I am on venlafaxine 225mg and quetiapine 75mg.
I no longer see psychiatrist. He has put control of my medication back to my normal doctor. I still see a psychology nurse.
I have spoke to doctor and i am getting quetiapine reduced to 50mg but doctor is talking of reducing venlefaxine 4 weeks later.
Has anyone been on this combination and how have they reduced the dosage?

Been on the anti-depressants. California rocketfuel which is Venlafaxine and Mirtazapine. Didn't work so well. Am on Duloxetine now and Amisulpride as an anti-psychotic.
Amisulpride works pretty well.
The anti-depressants suck ass. Been on loads of anti-depressants and loads of anti-psychotics. Still looking for a miracle cure for my depression and feeling low all the time, but nothing is out there or nothing I have tried yet works.
I guess we have to keep on struggling onwards and forwards. Do the best we can. Keep communicating to loved ones. Keep safe and sane, and keep people informed.
They more or less told me to stop coming into the hospital looking for help, but they said it in 'more or less' words because they can't officially say 'stop coming into psychiatric hospital', because if you are suicidal you have to come in don't you.
Some downers really hit hard.

I have been on a high dose of antidepressants is Venlafaxine. I am starting to reduce them I am now on as lower dose and I have to say it has taken me a few weeks to stabilise on them. I was very angry and weepy all at the same time. I believe that I am now OK with them. I have been on Venlafaxine for ast least 2 years. Hope this helps someone x

Hi Rae,
Venlafaxine did not really work for me. I was on them twice before. They had a strange withdrawl effect like mind zapping and I hated withdrawing from them.
I don't know by how much the medications have effected my mood to date.
I might just come off the anti-depressants and tell my psychiatrist I dont wanna be on em.

Hi all, I've been taken venaflaxine, mirtazapine, and serequel, the dosage for the venaflaxine is 150mg twice per day. I missed a dosage of my meds on purpose for 3 days and without a doubt I had major side effects. The strange thing was I didn't notice it. My family did. I was snappy, argumentiive, etc i would like to come off the meds now but my doctor thinks I'm not ready because I visit him on a regular basis. I'm totally unpredictable on them or off them. I don't know if I helped anyone but if you would like to friend me. I can say more.
Yours in health

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

Has anyone been on the following drugs and successfully come off them please?
Quetiapine
Venlafaxine
Lithium
I was also taking Mirtazapine, but have managed to come off it. Tried to come off the Quetiapine, but had terrible insomnia which my Psychiatrist prescribed Lormetazepam to help me over with, but it just wouldn't go away so she put me back on the Quetiapine.
Thanks in advance for any info
