HI Haze
My family are very unsportive,& very selfish So I can understand your problem a bit! My sisters always put me down & make me feel like rubbish! They have no idea of what I feel & don"t even try to understand! my mum is the only person in my family that I trust & gets me! my bother has mental health issues himself & gets upset if I talk about my deppersion, Which I understand, my sisters are horrid to him as well! I have had CBT which I found very good & has helped me alot! It"s not easy when you have to live in the situation! Have you talked to your GP, they might be able to get you some help. Good luck with it all!

Have you thought about seeing another gp? find sometimes that helps as some off our Dr's don't have a clue about mental health.

Instead of running to a GP or a Doctor or anything, have you thought about sitting one person out of your family down may it be a parent, sibling, uncle, aunt anyone. Just tell them exactly what is wrong with you, how it makes you feel, what you have done to try and help yourself and what they do/say that upsets you.
For example my discussion with my mother when exactly like this:-
'Mom, I have something which I need to discuss with you and it is really serious, I just need you to listen to me and if you have any questions I will answer them at the end. Okay, so basically I have depression, I know what has caused it, I know why I am like this, but that is not for you to worry about that the moment, I have go to counselling, got self help books and gone to my Doctors, but none of them really helped, so now I have come to you. Mom when you treat me bad or say something like I am doing this on purpose, it really affects me and it is not helping my depression at all.'
Then we discussed it and she understood and has helped me since.

Hi All, I have a very supportive GP. I am on sick at the moment as i can not do my job and try to deal with my depression.
My concern is its my Mum that caused me to be this way, she is a bad mother not sticking up for 3 out of 4 of her children, when we confronted her (back in October )to tell her we had all been sexually abused by our step father. she disowned us all and our children. Our mother said, as far as she is concerned we are all dead to her. My sister moved 300 miles away 4 months later and my brother already lived 50 miles away. I now have no family left to speak to.
so all those that have got family to be able to speak to be aware of what you are going to say to them, you may not get support when you explain why you are depressed. Please be sure you want them to know why you are like you are. I pray they don't push you away like our mother has, because that is even more devastating and has made my depression even worse than ever.

Suicidal thoughts, not coping, how to get treatment without carrying out my plans?

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H
