When I started taking it it was good but now it's not working very well and I don't really want to have to go on to something stronger but my doctor probably will.

I’ve been on fluoxetine for so long I don’t notice it. I’ve never been this balanced though. I’m on 20mg and honestly, all the folk who say no to meds, try it. I am more ‘normal’ than I’ve been in 38 years. I’ve gotten married, bought a house, been made redundant twice, quit smoking and a host of other things that would previously sent me over the edge...I’ve wobbled and cried but been no where near the old suicidal, self harming wreck I was before I started taking fluoxetine. Most folk don’t even know I’m bipolar now. My tip is to stick with it, get the dose right and don’t hope for too much sex!  (the only downside is a VERY reduced sex drive)
