I'm feeling very festive now that our Xmas tree is up and decorated with lights. It doesn't stop me thinking of people I love that are no longer here though. I also think of the homeless on the streets a d old people all alone. Have a lovely Christmas everyone ππ

Not too bad today, better than I thought I'd be. I was at my teams championship match last night it was very cold and we lost 0-1 at home. I was well wrapped up and had my heated gilet type jacket on under my big coat. After breakfast this morning bacon butties with home made stotties I went back to bed for a couple of hours. After lunch while my wife was doing the pressing I've been baking ( baking is my happy place ) with plenty of rests in between, I made bacon and egg and corned beef and tattie pies and also some more stotties which im currently waiting for them to proof rise then I'll cook them. All in all a productive day.

Hi @jamesm
Being able to get good sleep is so important, it affects everything the next day. Was your health care provider able to offer help or an explanation?
Take care,

I am not feeling my best at the moment. I've come down with a chest infection which has knocked the stuffing out of me. The constant coughing is getting me down other than that I am mentally ok today

Hey @Dolphin74
What is something you enjoy? Is there a way to incorporate that into your day? Listen to a good song, eat a favorite food, force yourself to dance a little? Think about easy ways to change your moood, even for a short while.
Take care,

Hello @jamesm,
How are you feeling today?
I'm sorry to hear that you've been going through a tough time lately. You really don't have to do this alone at all. Have you reached out to your friends and family member, or perhaps a professional for support? It's completely okay to ask for help when you need it.
Also, taking small steps towards self-care can make a big difference in how you feel. For example, you can start with things that bring you joy. Could you tell me a bit about your favourite hobbies?

Hello @jamesm,
Just wanted to check in to see how you're feeling today. It sounds like you've dedicated much of your life to caring for others, and it's really admirable. Remember, caring deeply and consistently is more than enough, though it might not always feel that way. Have you tried getting some professional guidance, such as couples' therapy, to find new ways to connect with your wife and understand each other's needs?
Perhaps exploring new hobbies or going back to old ones might also help balance your personal well-being with your caring responsibilities? Sometimes you also have to consider how to replenish your own mood and energy before you turn to help others. After all, you can't pour from an empty glass. It's also very very important to address your own health too, so it's good you're undergoing investigations. You're doing more than you know, or give yourself credit for.

There is something wrong with me, since my brother died in August my whole family has been upset with me as he committed suicide and there were no signs he seemed happy, and because I have suffered with severe depression and anxiety for years they think I should have know. But since he died everyone is feeling sad and upset and even now miss him for mothers day which my sisters and their families took my parents out for the day and my son went with them. I gave him my blessing as he made me breakfast in bed, got me roses and a box of chocolates. He is the best thing in the world to me but everyone was saying how they missed my brother. But I don't feel anything I haven't since the funeral and I am so scared that there is something seriously wrong with me. When I changed Gp's they put me back to only 100mg of sertraline ,150 at night of Pregablin and 50mg in the morning and 50mg of Amitriptyline 50mg because when I changed GP's as with the old GP was not giving me my prescription which I could not get into him every month there is no transport. New Gp does it automatically every month. And he is really nice, and I have said that to him and he says he is going to gradually bring my prescription back to the level I was used to but it is not helping. I no longer leave my house and barely get out of bed. I just feel like everyone would be better off without me and I am tired of fighting to be normal and being a good daughter and mother.

Hello @katz38,
How do you feel today? I'm truly very sorry to hear that you're going through such a difficult time.
Losing a loved one, especially so tragically can be very overwhelming. It's important to remember that everyone processes their grief differently, and it's not uncommon to feel numb or disconnected from life, especially when dealing with severe depression and anxiety. It is a good thing that you have a supportive new GP who is working with you on adjusting your medication. Healing is a slow but gradual process, and it's okay to seek more support from friends, family, or your therapist. Although it just sounds like something everyone says, things will get better.
If you ever need someone to talk to or share your feelings with, please don't hesitate to reach out on the forum. You are definitely not alone, and there are so many people who care about you, especially your son. Please remember that.

@Somya.P Thanks but nothing is improving and my friend brought me out for coffee on Saturday and she suffers with depression as well and was looking forward to it, but she turned up with her son and the last time we went out for coffee she had a full breakfast and I had scone and coffee and she paid , so it was my turn to pay and I was looking forward to just having someone to talk to but we couldn't talk with him sitting there grutting and they both ordered full dinners and dessert and what had cost her 15 ended up costing me 40 and I am on disability so I am on a tight budget. Just feel used. I think it is better if I don't even bother leaving the house now. and my son is so busy with work and helping his grandparents that I barely see him. I am so tired, if I am lucky I will get a decent night's sleep but then during the day I could sleep all day and just stay in bed. Sorry for bothering you

@katz38 Please know that you're really not bothering me at all, and I'm here to listen if you need someone to lend an ear or help you come up with some ways to cope.
It's completely understandable that you would feel upset and used in that situation with your friend. Did you try reaching out to her to talk about how it made you feel? Maybe it was not her intention to hurt you that way.
Also, please do not willingly isolate yourself, it can make everything seem even harder to deal with. It takes a lot of time to heal from what you have been through, but I am confident that it will happen eventually.

Hi I am really struggling, I am finding it hard to concentrate, am either sleeping all day and night or am in agony with my back and spasms in my legs. But hardly leaving the house at all, constantly in pain and my gp wont give me anything stronger than ixprim 37.5mg 2 *3 times a day but before I had changed to GP's I was on oxycontin and oxynorm but new gp wont prescribe the oxycontin and oxynorm until I see the orthopedic consultant and I have been on the waiting list for over a year with no sign of an appointment. I have missed the last couple of appointments with my mental health doctor, just not been able to remember the dates and just no appetite.

AmbassadorLizzie when we loss loved ones some people are expecting to grieve in the same way with each bereavement, and are even more upset because they dont. this can be for many reasons, for example it could be the age of the loved one, how close you were to a certain person, how well they physically or emotionally knew a loved one. or lastly some of us may never have met a loved one for many reasons. or if physical events had taken place ,and a loved one could not be viewed by family and friends
this happened me was because, my son and i parted with bad blood between us, and when his baby daughter was born , and died age 50 minutes i was banned from attending her service or internment, her name was Rebecca Jade, but i called her Becky, and i bought her a small headstone and i go to her grave at least once a month with fresh flowers. i will always love my grandaughter, but possibly not as much as my Angel wife or son, who took his own life.?
