Yes, that's perfectly normal, exhaustion is our body's way of telling us to rest, usually stress is caused by trying to do far too much, or from really stressful events like bereavements, to try to help us overcome that overactivity, or stressful events :)

It is amazing how much energy stress burns up. Exhaustion is a normal response. Rest is the best thing.

I find that I am going to bed at 8.30 at night during the week when I have to be up and out of the door by 7.30am the following morning but also at weekends and I will not wake until lunchtime, that or I am up at 3am, I am constantly tired. Recently it has got worse, my partner has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, my father died on 18th December and a good friend has been unwell, I am also dealing with my disabled mother who is quite demanding. I know this sounds as though I am full of self pity and I am not really but I can feel my happiness of going back to work in October for the first time since April of 2014 rapidly slipping and I feel as though I am sinking, This is also bad and I feel very guilty that I have yet to cry over the loss of my father.
Sorry for the life story but it all happened this month and I am so tired now, forgot I am just getting over flu.
Any suggestions would be gratefully accepted :-)

tracy12 as my doctor used to tell me, you have to make time to rest, or you'll burn yourself out, is there nobody you can ask to watch your kids for a night or 2, giving you some time to rest? Grandparents? Aunts/Uncles, or even a close friend, maybe if there are options give the kids first pick of who, just a suggestion, if not then maybe think of postponing your schooling, as you have enough to do already without the extra stress of your added schooling, there are at some schools, after school homework clubs for the kids, is there anything like this at you're kids school where they actually stay at school supervised by teachers or other parents giving up their time to help the kids with the homework, giving you a little extra time, before needing to pick them up so you can rest a little more?

Wow MAllwork it sounds like you've had a lot happen in a short space of time, it sounds like you too need to take some time for yourself, find a carer for your mum, as you can't work and look after her, so that's my first suggestion, then take some time to rest, once rested go and treat yourself, to something you enjoy, it doesn't have to be something expensive, it could simply be your favourite chocolate, or like me if you do have a little money set aside, you could go have some holistic or relaxation therapies done, I plan to try a floatation chamber, their supposed to be really relaxing, failing that, pamper yourself, with bath, candles, a nice shampoo and conditioner, blowdry your hair, paint your nails, just a general pamper can help us feel a whole lot better, hope this helps :) x

I used to struggle to make time to rest (and it is easier said than done) but the damage constant exhaustion can do cannot be underestimated. I now make resting, recharging and having me time top priorities. Getting support from others if you can will help.

i have one friend and she takes the kids on a Monday after school so that i don't have to miss my last two classes and sometimes when i get home she will have them fed and homework done, she is one in a million and the only one i have. my husband works away 6 days a week so i am kind of on my own. i have just had to go back to the doctor again as i am not sleeping and my stress levels are so high that my meds for my heart rate are being increased and i have been put on new meds for the sleep. i honestly don't know whether im coming or going anymore, did you ever just get sick of being sick??

tracy12, yes I have often got sick of being sick, but for me, I just keep reminding myself that one day, I'll be ok, and try to continue to stay positive, despite how hard it can be, so sorry you're struggling so much, but I hope it brings you some comfort that you know you're not alone in you're struggle :) x *hugs*

well, just when you think things cant get much worse.........they do!!! my darling hard working husband...........the lying cheating scumbag has been having an affair for the best part of a year. i found messages between them and one that from him that said room booked, key in envelope at reception. i went to the hotel where he was meant to be staying and stood outside his door with my children and i could hear them laughing like they didnt have a care in the world. yes, she knew about me and the kids and she didnt care. she says she loves him. he wants me to try to forgive him and try to make it work but i honestly have no idea what im supposed to do or how im supposed to react. at the minute, he is sleeping on the couch and i speak to him for the kids sake but all i want to is scream,i dont know what to do. i hate him so much but stupidly im still in love with him. i never in a million years thought that he would do this to me, he was always my rock. he used to make me feel safe even at my lowest, now i just feel so alone. what do i do

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H
