Hi Yiannis. Thank you for sharing how you are finding life difficult/frightening etc. Depression really shows no mercy when it bites in to your every day life. Please believe me when I tell you that not everyone is 2 faced ;some people genuinely care. Having personal experience from my own experience + now going through it with my new partner ,I do sympathize .
Reading your post, the advice that I would give to you is; be gentle with yourself; channel your anger in to something beneficial to yourself.
Adopt a 2 steps forward, 3 steps back attitude. Recovery doesn't happen over night. It takes an awful lot of not only patience but self help.
Don't focus on other people; police, etc; focus on you ,as negative thoughts will just result in anger + drag you down.
Have coping strategies when you can feel those dark feelings creeping in, I concentrate on my breathing ,even to this day when I recognize that cloud drifting in. Everyone has low days.
Little by little, day by day. As you mention, you can come out of the dark, frightening, painful ,angry tunnel of depression but it won't happen overnight. Depression is a long path with no short cuts but with both professional and self help you can make it to a wonderful place.
Always here to chat.
I hope that today has been gentle on you.

Kate welcome , we are quite a friendly bunch and it is good to talk . I used to be like you but found all sorts of new hobbies to keep me busy , I have had 4 poems published in different anthologies and am going to a book launch when they want me to read my latest piece out in December , 10 years ago if anyone I said that to me I was in such a low place I would probably have hit them .Find something you enjoy and go with it , always feel free to chat , good luck

Today just want to hide, lock myself in my bedroom and cry, everything has gone wrong today.
Feeling very anxious, on edge, feel panicky, racing thoughts and shaky today.
Nearly forgot my morning medication this morning, woke up at 3:45am with a bad dream, was too scared to go back to sleep,
Art therapist turned up for first meeting and i totally forgot she was coming today.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this so I hope I'm doing this right. I know it may sound very extreme but ive recently went through a break up & im really struggling. was with him for 3 & a half years, we had a house bought & ready to move in. we had plans to become foster parents. Then one day he just walks away. I then found out that he was touching my sister up for the best part of 2 years. if things couldn't get any worse, i find out he had been messaging someone for months while we were together, this girl got in contact with me & sent pictures as proof. I went to the doctor & I'm suffering with bad depression & anxiety. we are still in contact, i know all of what he did was wrong but i still love him very much. He keeps telling me that he doesn't want a relationship at the minute but we MIGHT get back together down the line. my heads a mess. any advice is much appreciated. thanks.

Natalie did you enjoy art therapy , I went to a talk about it and one of the ladies there opened up about her panic attacks for the first time and while talking suddenly realised what was causing them . Personally I find writing is my release , I can put things down on paper much easier and if they are very negative I will show them to my husband and then symbolically tear them up and put them in the bin .Just accept you have bad days , take a deep breath , and concentrate on today , you can't change the past only learn from it ,take each day as it comes and accept the challenge to move on slowly but don't knock yourself up when things don't work out

Louise I hate to sound cruel but he has no intention of coming back , he is playing on your emotions and that is a form of mental abuse .It must be so hard for you at the moment 3 and a half years is a lot to just throw away but you yourself say that for most of it he has been lying .If at some point he came back he would not stay and you would be worse off and the chances are your family would be upset and you could risk losing them .Take a deep breath , find some way to express your feelings , you can't change yesterday but you can accept the challenge of moving on today .As for expressing your feelings you have taken the first step by posting on this site but there are all sorts of ways to do , counselling is one. art therapy , writing , talking to a friend , exploring new hobbies .Stick to it you will get there and in a few years time you can look back and realise just how strong you are and how far you have come

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H
