Hi
After reading the above comments, I have found Hot penning, to be of good use in writing down my feelings, I get a release from whatever is troubling me, I dont see anything here, so I offer this suggestion , any one is welcome to try it, I learned this therapy from my psych. a long time ago, it is private, if you like you can hold onto your feelings, or to get rid of those feelings would be to burn it destroy it. The big thing is getting to doing it, and when your ready letting go . It may help. Feeling loads of pressure today, wife termnally ill. and I am up against it with hospitals. God bless all

Hi Mhairtain,
I'm Deb. I'm well at the moment and have been for a few months now. Not sure how long it will be till I'm back in the dark. It is a good idea what you suggest and great if it works for you. For me I don't think it would work as now I feel good, meds have been fixed out. So I don't feel I need to do something like that, and in my dark months I would not be able or capable to put pen to paper. But as I said its great if its working for you and helping you. I'm sure there are others on here that would find it a useful tool.
I'm so sorry to read the sad lines about your wife. Remember there will always be someone, maybe me or another, but there will always be someone here for you. You need support right now, sometimes in situations like yours, family and friends will not mean to, probably not even aware but they will ask how your wife is. And may not ask how you are. So the question I'll leave you with is how are YOU feeling ?

Hi Alix,
Sorry you are struggling right now. Do you have a support network in place ? I can't stress enough, how important it is to have a good gp and of course a psychiatrist that you feel comfortable with. I take every day as it comes, luckily I'm well at the mo. But I know how quickly that can change. For now I'm trying to stay positive in my thoughts and actions. You've definitely come to the right place for more support, I think its an awesome site. Let us know about how your getting on with things and of course how your feeling.

Hi all
I'm Anthea ..been suffering from depression for over 20 years now. Does anyone else feel like they suffer more at this time of year than they do in the summer months? Even with medication I find I struggle more in the winter.
Hope everyone else is doing well xx

Hi Anthea, Yeah its definitely more common for moods to drop this time of year. For me its the opposite, I'm well now and I hope it continues. But my usual pattern has been Feb/March I come crashing down, till Sep/Oct. So I never get out in the sunshine, its weird isn't it ? Do you find there is a pattern with your depression ? How are you feeling now Anthea ?

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H
