How are you feeling today? Thank you for opening this discussion and sharing your feelings.
I am very sorry to hear about your husband. Being diagnosed with a health condition, especially when it is rare, can be overwhelming. Sometimes he/she can feel confused, misunderstood by family and friends and very alone.

Hi there,
It is SO hard to get out of a depressive state. I hate to say it, but for me, I do kind of need someone to force me out. Sometimes even multiple times. I know I bring down the group, but honestly, its when I someone forces me out that I see any improvement at all. I have a terrible time, but, eventually the persistance helps a bit. It doesn't last necessarily, but it helps...
What I can tell you is be patient. It is not easy. You just have to keep at it. It is better than the alternative.
However, everyone is different. I wonder if anyone here would prefer to be left alone all the time?

Hello,
My husband is living with castleman's disease, a rare condition that few know about. I know he struggles daily with this illness and he often gets depressed. I sit by and try to offer support, and tell him I love him, but I don't know if it helps. I can't feel his pain or his depression so I don't know the best way to help.
Can someone tell me how I can help a loved one who is depressed?
Thank youXX
