I love listening to heavy rock, country and 50s and 60s as this reminds me of dancing around as a child but for my depression I like to colour pics of mindfulness colouring books I spend a while colouring with my gel pens or I make jewellery for my granddaughter to sell for her holiday money

Had to stop doing all the things I like doing only can do colouring for a few minutes and jewellery I find hard now as my lymphodema hurts to much now I get very depressed as I can't do the things I used to do it upsets me seeing my husband doing everything I want to be able to do, can't walk so my husband bought me a foldable mobility scooter just so I can enjoy going out, we take it everywhere now but i can still enjoy the outside, it's an absolute godsend, been on holiday we took it there and it was lovely because I could go everywhere with it, now I have returned home I have got another chest infection and having to use my stand by antibiotics and steroids has made me more depressed than ever because I can't go out as I feel really poorly being 70 now I find it very hard to shake illnesses off not like I could when I was young so at the moment I'm not at my best

when im feeling low, i simply shut myself off from other people and dont even think about playing music ,as it often makes me feel worse
my favourite son is Honey by Bobby Golsboro and has been since before the birth of my late son Damian 27 years ago. i have lost so many of my loved ones and been present at my 2 oldest sisters death ,so it does not affect me. i lost my wife 28 years ago and that is 2 years longer than my wife and i were married on earth
rest in peace my angel in heaven xx

Music can be a powerful tool in helping to manage depression. It can help to reduce symptoms of depression, improve mood, reduce stress, and provide a form of self-expression. It can also be used to help motivate and inspire. Listening to music can be a great way to take your mind off of your worries and focus on something more positive.
What effects does music have on you and depression? Does music help you? What type of music do you listen to when you feel bad? Any songs in particular? Let's share!
