Especially Velocette.
I'm in the North East as well and have had 2 hips replaced and 1 knee {but the knee was only 4 weeks ago} I've been to both your hospitals but never for an operation. I'll make up the set.........all 3 replacements were done at Hexham General. By Mr Assad. I've heard of Mr Carluke but never seen him.
I had fantastic treatment with all three replacements. Couldn't tell you about the bacon sandwiches....I'm a veggie 
I would go back there again.
My only problem is my knee, its playing up a bit the past few days {Originally it was bone on bone} so its a lot better. Its just 4 weeks since I had it done so I'm hoping it settles down and the pain gets less.
Don't see Mr Assad for another 4 weeks or so. A bit longer than the usual 6 weeks post op but he's taken himself of to America for a Holiday.

Hi,
Well I will be 6 weeks post op TKR this Friday. I can drive... The only thing is my THR when I had them done {both of them} I drove until the day before I went in for my operation so it was exactly 6 weeks. This time with the knee it was bone rubbing on bone and it was agony so I had to stop driving about 6 weeks before my op and now another 6 weeks so not sure how confident I'll be when I get behind the wheel.
I was in my late 40's before I started to drive anyway.
Wish me luck for Friday. The first time that I will get behind the wheel.
