I had total right knee replacement. At first I thought it wouldn't work. They did say the pain will go after a few months . It was great I'm always busy and help a lot of older people . I'm I my late 70s . I have a very big garden and this year I have really worked at it. Thing is I have broken my back twice broken both ankles since I had my knees done. Although pain is my life now I still do all my house work and garden. Thing is don't give into pain. Yes I have sat and cried but you must never give in.
There is help out there !!

I was told in the summer of 2015 that my right knee was bone on bone and that I needed a TKR. At that time I was only only 3 months post op following my 5th Spinal surgery, and I was not ready for another major surgery. I walk with crutches now as a result of the spinal; surgeries. I was not able to exercise much after the 5 surgeries, unable to take anti inflamatory medication, I turned towards natural therapy. I started taking Turmeric in the form of Goden paste, Turmeric tea and Turmeric milk along with Glucosamine sulphate, MSM, Cod liver oils, Omega 3 Ginger, Vit. C and Rosehip supplements and joined the gym and started swimming. We are now 3 and a half years past since I was told I needed the surgery then. I still do walking with crutches. Now my other knee is also becoming Problamatic and as I don't want to be crippled with both knees at the same time, I have booked an appointment in Jan 2019 to see the Orthopaedic surgeon to see if he could do an MRI scan on both my knees and see if i am in need of TKR. Wish me luck. I will let you know the outcome.

Good luck gale. Like you I have been on cod liver oil since I was a baby. I did swim a mile a day up to 5years ago. It became a battle. I do my garden well it's three with not much help . I walk and try to go farther each time.
I wont give in. Not my nature. Very best of luck you are still very young so have a lot going for you.

Good on you Josie. You are right not to give in. Soldier on regardless. Even if it doesn't get any better, at least with your determination, it will stop from getting any worse. Don't let the pain get the better of you, beat it. I know its very hard. I am in the same situation. I am also determined not to let my condition better of me. I am not a spring chicken, I am 74. And with my history of having had 5 Spinal surgeries and limited mobility, needing the crutches to walk with, life is not easy. But I am trying to make the best of what is available to me.

Well done gale . May be like us can make it easier on those who throw the towel in. It looks as if NHS is at last getting more help. Keep smiling.

Good luck Gale. I have lived on cod liver oil. All my life I believe in it, as that with orange juice is what they gave you.. During the war. Turmaric milk I was told not to over do it It can also have a reversed affect.
I will try alsorts if I thought it might help. Any thing is worth a try. Once again good luck.
