Well surprise surprise the lovely hospital cancelled AGAIN!!! What shoddy callous treatment...apparently again they have said that they hav no beds!
I was asked if i wanted to be given another appointment but i sad only if they could guarantee that i would get a bed and the knee op which they can't do as they never know if beds will be available so i have been taken off their list now as you only get 2 chances of appointments then that's it! Not sure today how i feel apart from very low...i don't know if i can go through with this again only to be cancelled...also my husband has to arrange time from work and is busy now so he may not be able to look after me and i have no one else.
I have asked to be referred to another hospital but have been told that i will have to go back to my GP for this which means starting out all over again and going on another waiting list.
I have checked the NHS website and apparently the waiting time for surgery from referral is 18 weeks and mine is now 16 weeks (I was originally told that it would be 8 weeks) so looks like i am in for a long wait!

I am so very sorry to hear that Moonstone, and I can understand your desperation. I still think that you should not give up on your surgery. NHS are under tremendous pressure. Unfortunately it is true that emergencies have to have the first priority, as they would be in danger of losing their life. Where as knee replacement is not critical. Sure, very painful and distressing to have plans made but not being able to fulfil due to last minut cancellation is all very distrssing and annoying to say the least. Please don't give up. Keep trying. Like I said before, There is a reason for every thing. We dont always know what and why, but it is always to your advantage. So all I can say is dont give up.
Have you tried natural therapies? Have you looked into Golden Paste or Turmeric tea? Have you discussed it with your GP to check if it would interfere with any medical condition you may have or with your medications? I have great faith in Turmeric. For me it is wroking wonderfully, along with swimming, and exercising. Have you looked up "Turmeric for Health" website? Look it up and see what you think. Please do not start on Turmeric without checking with your GP first.
I wish you the very best of luck

I had a complex shoulder replacement August last year. Extremely painful op so the consultant and my GP warned me beforehand. The pain is worth it to get rid of the initial pain of the shoulder.
The prosthesis works well and I have movement back to near normal. Unluckily I have developed some sort of inflammation which is so painful. I am having a scan next week to try and see what's going on. Then they will have to draw fluid from my shoulder and worst case scenario will be having the prosthesis removed and replaced. Could only happen to me lol!

I have now been given a new date it's 29th.march so next week..hopefully it will go ahead this time.
I am not going to pack my bag again until the day before as i don't want to tempt fate this time lol.
This will be the third appointment so i just hope that it doesn't get cancelled again.
Yes i have tried Tumeric and am taking it now..i am not on any medication for other conditions but havn't noticed any improvement by using it..also have copper insoles in my trainers and tried Vital3 which did help but i had to stop taking it as i suffered from nightmares.
So please keep your fingers crossed for me that it goes ahead ..many thanksX

Hi everyone,
I've received a message from @Hileena who asked me to share her news with you for her. Unfortunately she fell and broke her shoulder, and is now in a hospital, getting ready for a surgery which will take place tomorrow morning. She will let us know once she is back from the hospital.
We all wish Hileena a quick recovery!

I am so pleased that you have got another date. 29th March is not too long now.
You said you are taking Turmeric. Are you taking supplements or Golden paste or Turmeric Milk. Are you having it with black pepper and olive or coconut oil? They are very important for absorption of Turmeric. Also has any one advised you to stop taking Turmeric 2 weeks prior to sutgery? It is very imortant, as Turmeric helps to thin the blood and there is a risk of bleeding during or post surgery. So if you already haven't, please stop taking it until after your surgery. It can take upto 4 weeks before you begin to feel the benefit. So please dont give up on it. I was advised to have TKR in summer 2015 as my kne is bone on bone. But since I started taking Turmeric, my pain is no where near as bad as before. Of course, keeping acrive, exercising and swimming also helps a great deal. I aim to hold out on my surgery for as long as I possibly can.
Good luck Moonstone, 3rd time lucky. Please do let me know when you sucessfully get admitted on 29th March
