Ann to be able to get Disability Living Allowance age 65 or over you must have been receiving it up to age 65 this the Department Of Work and Pensions argue that disability after 65 is due to old age only Ian Duncan Smith thinks that its a rouse to claim higher pensions this department is run by a moron.

By the way you should get help from citizens advice the forms are so big because they ask questions a different way so you get confused IDS strikes again.

i used to complete Attendance allowance forms as a volunteer for AGE U.K and i must have completed around 900 in 6 years, with around 95% success rate. the application forms are much simpler to complete now, than they used to be.!!
Y as other members have stated to get D.L.A, of which there is 2 components. these are mobility component and care allowance, motability and care components are paid in one, of 2 levels this benefit must not to be confused with carers allowance, that is paid to the carer and not the disabled person
you must be under 65 when applying for disability allowance and over 65 for Attendance allowance, now being converted to PIP

Hi Nytsom
I used to complete forms for DLA and Attendance allowance. i completed an application for DLA late last year for a friend and my friend was successful in getting DLA care component. awards are now made on a points system, and you may also be invited for an itnerview?
if i can be of help send me a message with your email addy and, i will do my best to help.
the best advice i can offer i off ,you is do not let the form or application process get to you, i have completed several hundred for other people and a few for myself, and i was successful!
Regards Mr Chipps

I'm really confused about DLA/PIP and Attendance Allowance for over 65's. I had forms through Friday and they are PIP with no mention of Attendance Allowance which my husband used to receive but it stopped when he was 65. I receive DLA now which as you know is changing to PIP but the form is so daunting, I'm very anxious, Stressed which is causing deep depression, especially on the build up to Christmas which I dread as I suffer social anxiety. The form has to be returned by 16th December.
Nystom, do you think we have same forms, or are yours headed something else? I really understand the pressure your under, I have many physical and mental health problems, practically leaving me housebound as I can hardly walk either.
I would really appreciate any help or feedback on these forms.
really hope your all having a pain free day as possible, hugs xx

My ten pence worth, is if we considered our veterans needs over our needs. We would have less mental health issues and less greed leading the way? Also I took my forms to the British Legion and they understand more than the people you access. Not only did I get It bypassed the ESA interview.. As applied for both around the same time, but releasing I should have been on it 20 years ago if we all lived in the real world for less taxes...

Also the support for the real people that need it, would be there as we fight for equality so all are equal.. Yet today so many differences..Hence Issues.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

HI,
I'm really suffering with my osteo arthritis, it's present in both hips; my knees and ankles. I also suffer with advanced spondylitis. Also have B12D Pernicious anaemia . Mobility is my problem; and some days I cannot walk more than a few steps.
The attendance allowance form is laborious and repetitive in it's requests for information.
I'd prefer to write an Essa on how disabling this is.
Anyone else filled out the Attendance allowance form? Only applies to UK residents..
Thanks in advance for any replies..
