Hi. I have osteoarthritis in knee hip lower back .... basically wherever there's a joint I have it.
I've used " devils claw " a health/herbal gel from the health shop. It helped to relieve my pain. Basically I applied it every couple of hours. My uncle (85yrs young) recommended it to me.
Maybe worth a go?

Hi bopper
I'm concerned about your usage of tramadol and anti depressants. Ssri's are very dangerous when mixed with tramadol. Can I ask which anti depressants you are in?

I have osteoarthritis in my neck, hands and knees. I was diagnosed last September. I take Naproxen and because my bone density is so low I take a weekly dose of Alendronic acid tablets and calcium tablets twice daily. I was taking glucosamine chondratin but heard there was no evidence it helps so I stopped. I wake every night in pain and am restless as I can't get comfortable. Until I was diagnosed I was so happy that the only drugs I took were thyroxine and now I feel like a junkie!

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
