Hi, I have osteoarthritis in my left hip and knee and neck, I also have asthma and take drugs for a heart attack I had 10 years ago. I am limited in the painkillers I can take and currently take 6 paracetamol and 2 co-codamol per day. Some days the pain is a lot worse than others and I have started to leave out different things from my diet, especially pork and this seems to help sometimes, as does warm dry weather. Has anyone else found that diet helps?

Hi everyone, I have osteoarthritis in every joint also fibromyalgia. Has anyone tried tumeric for inflamation in a paste with coconut oil and black pepper? It has very good revues and I have been taking it for the past month; it has, so far, had little effect on my pain but I am going to keep trying it as I have had pain for 26 years and have tried most combinations of pain killers with little effect too. I cannot take anti-inflamatories as I have a damaged stomach through taking them.

Hi, I've also got osteoarthritis in multiple joints, and suffer from Clinical Depression, Fibromyalgia and have an Underactive Thyroid. Recently, I've adopted a Gluten free diet, and am also seeing an osteopath weekly for joint manipulation & massage. Am suffering from less pain, as my muscles around my joints had all become very tight, due to years of attempting to protect the damaged joints, so the weekly massages are loosening them up. I also believe that the Gluten free diet means I suffer less inflammation.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
