Impulsive and strong emotions, unfortunately yes. I was always told that mindfulness helps reduce anxiety. This study is really interesting: Just 10 minutes of mindfulness daily boosts wellbeing and fights depression (bath.ac.uk).

Hello everyone,
How are you feeling today?
Living with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can be complex and overwhelming. It is different compared to other mental health conditions because it mainly affects how a person relates to themselves and to others. There are often some intense emotions, mood swings, impulsive behaviours, and a fear of abandonment involved, and a person with BPD often finds it difficult to maintain stable relationships, which can lead to feeling misunderstood or alone.
Unlike depression or anxiety, BPD symptoms can be unpredictable, shifting rapidly from one emotional extreme to another. This can make it hard to explain to others or even recognize what’s happening yourself. It’s also common for people with BPD to struggle with self-identity, experiencing an unstable sense of who they are.
Do you have BPD? What has your experience been like? How do you cope with the mood swings, intense emotions, or impulsive behaviours?
