Hi there, @EnricoPiem!
Thank you for starting this interesting discussion. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve been dealing with anxiety and fear, but it's honestly great that you're seeking understanding and solutions. The difference between fear and anxiety and the effects of medications like benzodiazepines on both, plus their potential side effects are all quite interesting talking points, so kudos to you for your bringing them up.

Have any of you experienced anxiety or phobias without relying on medication? What alternative methods have worked for you?
Let’s keep this conversation going and support each other with our experiences and advice.
Take care and best regards,
Somya from the Carenity Team 🌼

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

Living with anxiety and other mental illnesses
Suicidal thoughts, not coping, how to get treatment without carrying out my plans?

The two disorders are often interchanged. From personal experience I can say that I find myself afraid rather than anxious in certain situations, in fact I take Diazepam which acts on anxiety, yet fear is also linked to anxiety in some way, and I believe that benzodiazepines reduce some phobias as well as anxiety. I read that Valium and benzodiazepines, or combinations of stimulants/benzodiazepines, were and still are widespread in the wars of third world countries, in particular Captagon is one of these drugs, which eliminates fear but gives aggression, pushing a human being to be a killer. Many times we hear about school shootings and murders caused by drugged killers, about side effects of benzodiazepines and SSRIs, such as increased aggression. In both cases, can phobia and anxiety be cured without the use of drugs?
