My Dear Friend
There is no reason for you to end your life. You are NOT hanging by a thread. There is the whole Carenity community waiting to help you, just reach out and let us join and help you through this dark time.
I once felt like you feel now, thought that there was no one to listen or help me, so I turned into a recluse and thought that I was at the end. My life was very dark, no 'light at the end of the tunnel' Then all of a sudden I thought, Hey Matey What on earth are you thinking? What does it say in the bible? 'Seek and ye shall find'. I did just that I looked for help in my local community center, posters offering help for this and that, then a poster asking if I was lonely needed to talk? There was a phone number and that was it. I phoned and started chatting to this total stranger. It was the Samaritans Helpline. I chatted to this man for what seemed hours and hours, talking about this and that, Why did this happen? Why doesn't that happen. At the end of that phone call I felt a huge weight lifted from me, I was NOT ALONE....
We here at Carenity DO CARE and we WANT to HELP you. Please Please open up to us and see for yourself. We won't bite.
Chat again soon?

Woodsta, I can only echo what Richard has said and urge you to continue to try and contact your heath professonals or Samaritans. Like richard said, your community should have local resources for you. Pick up that phone for Samaritans, you have nothing to lose but a lot to gain.

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

There is a big difference between the sensation of feeling sad or down about something and depression. Depression can manifest itself in different ways and the symptoms following depression can differ from person to person. However, some of the most common signs of depression are:
Insomnia
Many people are unable to sleep, or have very restless sleep, when they are suffering from depression. This can make the feeling of depression even more pronounced as fatigue aggrevates feelings of despair.
Loss of Interest in Hobbies
It is common for people suffering from depression to suddenly lose interest in hobbies that they were once passionate about. A general lethargy surrounding participating in events or doing things that once would have interested the sufferer.
Weight Change
A fluctuation in weight is a common symptoms of depression; this can express itself in either weight gain or weight loss.
These are just three side effects of depression, many more exist which is what makes this disease so dispairing. If you feel depressed then don't hesitate to contact Samaritans to talk about how you feel, it is completely free: 116 123 Or you can email them at jo@samaritans.org
What symptoms do you, or a close one, suffer from concerning depression? How do you help to manage them?
