Try not to let fear stand in the way of getting you to a better place. We are all afraid of the unknown ,when in fact it may not be as frightening as we imagine. Don't let your mind be filled with negative thoughts. Go outside your comfort zone, as that is where you may find your greatest achievements waiting for you. xx
In different parts of the country there are different names for the therapies.
Please go with it and accept ; what have you got to lose?
I look forward to hearing how you are getting on.
Day by day, little by little.

you have a good point. but I'm scared of what I may have to challenge. what if it gets worse before it gets better. yes things can improve if I put the work in. x

Anything in life that is worth fighting for can be so scary.
Don't look too far ahead; take small steps.
Don't expect too much too soon. Don't over think things. Be gentle on yourself.
You will be guided and supported all through your journey.
We are all here for you so don't ever think that you will be alone. This group is great for supporting, whilst just being there for you in all that you may experience.
For me personally, I was terrified of the future as I couldn't see one. In time I was suicidal but with the correct medical help along with a lot of self help my life is pretty good. The only 'blip' is that my new partner struggles with mental health issues following a diagnosis of a terminal illness, along with a horrible marriage break up [prior to me, I hasten to add]
Try and look at it as a 'new beginning' .
Feel free to chat any time.
Love + light.

Hi there. I've never consumed or delivered STEPPS. A friend was thinking of buying an American CD based version for 70 dollars and asked me if I thought it was worth the money. I had a good look at things that had been written about it and found that people who completed the course did seem to show a moderate improvement across a range of symptom areas. My only reservation was sometimes quite a few people dropped out. Sometimes a third of people who started.
It has a lot of similarities to another well established method so its success isn't that surprising. All forms of therapy can be scary if you haven't tried therapy before. There wasn't anything in STEPPS that was any worse than other forms of treatment. Part of what I looked at wasn't even therapy, it was described as "psychoeducation". I guess the alternative is to take a drug like Quetiapine, which has problems of its own. Whatever you decide to do I wish you luck.

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

has anyone been through STEPPS therapy or stairways as these have been suggested by shrink but it sounds terrifying.
