Hi John,
How do you feel today? I'm truly sorry to hear about your situation. It genuinely takes a lot of courage to understand when a job is affecting your well-being and to take steps to prioritize your mental health. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you.
I am also extremely sorry to hear about your mum, and I am certain that she would not have wanted you to suffer in this way.
How did it go with the organisation that you are attending? Seeking support is a crucial step. It is also very important to surround yourself with understanding friends, family, or professionals who can offer support during these tough times.
If you ever need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to reach out. Wishing you strength, comfort, and the support you need.
Take care,
Somya from the Carenity team

It's brave of you to recognize when a situation is no longer healthy for you and to take steps to prioritize your well-being. Seeking support from organizations like the one you mentioned can be really beneficial, and it's great that you're reaching out for help.
Remember, you're not alone in this. There are people who care about you and want to see you get through this challenging time. Take things one step at a time, and don't hesitate to reach out for support whenever you need it.
Also, I found this resource that might be helpful for you https://mentalhealthhotline.org/anxiety-hotline/.

John,
It seems like you're doing all the right things and that you (rightly and authentically) are committed to not following your mother into suicide.
I would avail myself of any and all resources that can be brought to bear. Especially opportunities to meet with others, both formally and informally. In addition to therapeutic settings; Interest and appreciation groups (art, technology, music, whatever), excursions, adventures etc.

Suicidal thoughts, not coping, how to get treatment without carrying out my plans?

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

Hi my name is John I am 51 from Ireland. I have to take myself out of my job, its killing me and causing me severe anxiety if I don't leave the job it will kill me. I have decided to go out on sick leave. I cried most of the weekend and went to bed early. I had trouble with the job in 2010/11 I ended up in a physciatric ward for 6 months and my local physciatric unit twice. The job is only 3 days a week with long shifts. I live on my own and the lonliness has finally caused me to take time out. Mental health "trigger " My mum had cancer in and in Jan 2021 she took her own life due to the covid restrictions and the isolation. Mum was my best friend. I am going to attend a organisation that helps with suicide. I just can't be in that job anymore it's killing me, too much time off to think and a horrible atmosphere and mind numbing job. I am just looking on advice to help me through these difficulties times please John
