Hi Grace, Firstly my sincerest condolences for the horrible and untimely death of your friends. This comes from the heart as i have lost friends and even been in this situation myself.
Allow yourself and the rest of your friends/community time to grieve, it is a natural and biological effect of losing someone so dont be afraid of letting go but Please dont try and make sense of what happened !! The only people who know are sadly your friends that took their lives.
You have taken the first steps to helping by coming here and looking for help and to be honest that is the one thing that can bring the biggest change to all it affects. Be there for your friends and encourage them to talk about how they feel but dont push as everybody handles these situations differently, just knowing someone is there and understands can help so much.
You sound a strong and caring person but allow yourself time too, Please dont hide behind everybody elses pain (thats what i tend to do)
Your GP is a good start for professional help also the samaritans and MIND are very good to and dont forget this site !!!!
Please contact me if you need to talk more openly and i`m sure i am not the only one here that are willing to help and listen.
all the best
phil

My friend hung herself on The 11th August this year, she has left behind 2 beautiful young children. Unfortunately me and her family asked her to seek help for her depression but she never would.
Life was going great for her, she had found a new man, just signed a contract to stay in the house she loved for 3 more years, had all new carpets fitted through out. so she was in a good place for once. Then she did that, why? We will never know.
He last text message to a old s chocolate friend was.....I'm too much of a coward to top myself, I love my children too much. So it all seems so strange.
your not the only one out there with unanswered questions, there are hundreds of us. Yours and my friend did what they did, we can't turn back the clock. We have to now take a massive step and learn to remember the good times. Hard I know, easier said than done....yep. Your not alone. Stay as strong as you can and grieve in your own way and time. I haven't cried yet, although it has sunk in, I can't think of not seeing my beautiful friend again.
Hugs

It is so hard when someone close to us commit suicide when you think that they had everything to live for. The mind can be such a cruel thing. My heart goes out to you. I too questioned myself when a mutual friend took her own life. She too appeared to be in a good place with a new man, a son she idolized a new home and in a job that she loved.
Like anyone else I would ask myself if there was anything else that I could have done/said. At the end of the day she was really ill.
When I was at High school, I can always remember a pupil taking his own life. On attending his funeral I can always remember a nun telling me /friends that we shouldn't be sad for the person who has died , it is the people that they have left behind that we should be sad and pray for.
I was shocked at what appeared to be harsh words but looking back as an adult it is true.
No one can predict what someone else will do. Perhaps your friend was crying out for help and I feel so sorry for the person who received her last message.
She was sadly very poorly to take such drastic action.
My heart goes out to her children.
Take care.

Good Morning Brenda. It was sad to read your post.
Sadly, grief has no expiry date and it is a long healing process.
Sending you big hugs wrapped with love.

s a longbpeocesson Dec 20th 2014 my son took his own life while in the care of the local mental health hospital, he hung himself, I never forget that knock on the door at 5am Bu the police. It is hard to lose someone like this, especially myself being a mum an losing a child. I nearly lost my other son as it devastated him. An every xmas now ia difficult, this year will be a little different as have a grandchild due on6th dec.. An a granddaughter of 8weeks. I have got myself in rut since my sons death, I myself suffer with chronic back pain and i was doing tai chi which was really helping but have stopped everything. I need to get back into helping myself. One of the things I am planning to do with the help of rethink is to set up a mental health support group, as although my son committed suicide a jury found that the hospital were negligent. He was on 15 min obs. He told them he would find a way to end his life on ward. Everyday is so hard, an as someone says grieving is a long process. I get angry with myself for the way i am being

Speaking from somebody who has helped and felt depression and suicidal . no matter how much they want to be alone. Do the smallest things for example ... Make them something , try relate to them .., hang out ... Try including them in as much as possible ... Gives a sense of self worth , meaning , distraction, meaning . compliment them on anything once a day . do something you know they love ... Be THERE! With patience . Thats the best advice i can give. And I'm sorry for you hurt and losses. I wish better for you x . Be the person you'd want to have bin there . ..good luck .

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

Sadly lots of my friends have mental health issues. My Friend hung himself nearly two years ago. Another friend went up to the same spot and followed suit, on Friday night.
How can I support my friends who are suffering this loss also and also suffer from various mental health & addiction issues.
It feels like shockwaves have hit our little community.
