In the depths of my darkest times I couldn't concentrate on watching TV or reading. I previously would always go to bed and read before going to sleep but I couldn't enjoy books as I couldn't sit and read a book; remember, follow and enjoy it.
In time I used to get a magazine that contained crosswords. It was quite a while before I could actually fill them in.
Anything to keep the mind ticking over is a bonus. Colouring books for adults are so popular.
Thankfully, I now read daily before going to sleep.
My memory has never been too good. I used to blame the shortage of brain on my children sucking my brains out as they are all very clever and have done so well in life.
I try not to worry about it as it can stress me so much and I can become quite anxious/uptight.
You need to get your mind in to a relaxing state; set time aside where you empty your mind of everything. Just picture yourself in your favourite place; somewhere restful. Let those relaxing thoughts/feeling wash all over you.
Hope that you have had a good day.

Suicidal thoughts, not coping, how to get treatment without carrying out my plans?

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

I have been on mediction for a long time for depression.
I have noticed that my concentration and memory has got really bad.
If i read a book the following night when i go to continue the book I cannot remember what has happened in the part i have read the night before.
Does anyone else have this problem?
