@Hopeless I'm very sorry to hear that you're feeling so low and that you can no longer go on with life. I hope that you'll be willing to reach out to other members of the community who are also dealing with depression. Sometimes just having someone to listen is enough to help you get through another day. You can find other members who have been through similar situations using the Search for Friends under the Share header: https://member.carenity.co.uk/my-friends/search
Don't hesitate to get in contact with the Samaritans as well. They're available to talk 24/7, 365 days a year and you can call them from anywhere in the UK or Ireland for free. Again, having someone to just listen can sometimes be a great help.

We're here for you.

Michael from the Carenity Team

How does one overcome suicidal thoughts, l feel so desperate, l have had such. a stressful few years with having to move from my home of 61 years after my parents died, l was their carer as was being forced out by my sisters and had to have a court order to have more of the estate. Then I was told l had Parkinson disease which was a misdiagnosis but the DVLA won't believe me and that I must have a medical as l am not fit to drive.
It's the last straw.

Hello Carenity members!
@Hopeless is having an extremely difficult time dealing with the consequences of a misdiagnosis, grieving and depression. Do you have any advice for getting through a period like this? Have you ever been at a similar point in your lives?
It'd be great if we could get your experiences and support each other.
Thanks, everyone and Hopeless I'm sorry that you're going through such a hard time.

Hi Hopeless, trust me my friend, your dogs would be lost without you. I also have two rescue dogs and our relationship is amazing. I suffer from depression, and have done so for over 15 years. I've had extreme lows and unbelievable highs. My emotions go through roller coasters I often feel I cannot handle. I hope you confide in myself or other like suffering people on this forum. I'm more than willing to talk to you through the message service. It genuinely does help to talk to,even complete strangers, I spoke to a complete stranger many years ago, this person helped me a great deal, he then inturn was at his lowest a year after our talk. He was going to end his life. I talked to him for days and thankfully he turned his life around enough to keep on trying. I hope this message helps you a bit. I'm here any time you need a chat.

Hello @Bigj1969,
Thank you for sharing your very moving experience and for reaching out to Hopeless. It's true, sometimes being able to confide in someone lifts the weight on our shoulders just enough to get through another day.
@Hopeless I hope you will reach out to other forum members like Bigj1969 on the forum or in the private message system. How have you been since your last message?
Michael

Suicidal thoughts, not coping, how to get treatment without carrying out my plans?

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

One is always told that no problem is to difficult to deal with and overcome but I find that this is just not so for me. I have had episodes of depression all of my adult life, I am retired and have been for a lomg time but my depression is getting worse, medication does not help and an out of hours doctor just said i was tired not depressed and to do voluntary work.
I live on my own and so many things have gone wrong that I cannot deal with and I cannot cope anymore. I have two dogs that have kpt me going but both of them are lame, one old and I have made arrangements for them as I don't think they would miss me.
Nobody can help.
