Hi launas, How are you feeling now?
I was diagnosed firstly with depression but then changed to anxiety depression. When the feelings of anxiety first began I truly thought that I was going to die as I was alone at home when i experienced my first panic attack. Once you identify the reason leading up to you having your attack then you can work on it. Mine was due to all the emotions of a 30 year marriage break up. I was in shock, I was so frightened of the 'bleak looking future' I was truly in a dark, lonely ,frightening place as I was also facing a lot of other 'issues'.
I am now in a wonderful place in my life, something that when in the midst of anxiety depression, I could never ever envisage .It has been a long journey but I have made it and so will you.
It is a case of 'calming' your breathing down. Focus on breathing slowly in as far as you can and then letting it out imagining your body being a deflating balloon. It will be a jittery feeling as you will be feeling so panicky but the more you practice not only will it calm you down quickly but you will realize that you are not going to die.
The moment you feel that emotion coming over you ;focus.
Remove yourself from the situation that is causing the panic .
Do you recognize what the 'issue 'was that has started this feeling again?
If so, work on that 'issue'
Go for walks; take the time to notice the flowers instead of the weeds
Do things for 'you' no matter how small.
Don't look too far ahead but take a 'little by little, day by day' approach
Talk, talk and talk some more. .This group is ideal if you aren't comfortable talking to someone face to face.
We may all be strangers on here but we are all friends in the sense that we all support each other through our own personal experiences.
Acknowledge, accept and embrace that it is ok to say that you are struggling, just like you have done in your post.
When you feel the anxiety coming ,get typing on here as you will always get a response that will also make you realize that you are not alone.
Be gentle on yourself.
Always here to chat/support.
Gentle hugs ;
Julie xx

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H
