Hi
Id say if it hurts while your doing it (or after) or leaving any marks etc then you are hurting your self.
id say try and do it no more than 30min and see how you feel. if you dont feel any better wait 10 mins and repeat the process one more time. Ab toners should really be used no more than 4-5 times a week and no more than 30 mins at a time.
Please dont do it more than I suggested, Im not an expert but you can do damage in the long run if you over do it.

Sounds like you are using the ab toner as a comforter. I used to scratch myself until I bled and only found out months later that I was doing this because it was something I could controll and feel when I was feeling down.
I tried to focus on other ways to help me when I felt the urge to scratch. At first it was hard and took me many attempts to get it under control. I tried all sorts of things and finally I found what worked for me and that was a cheap inflatable punch tower. Now when I feel low I do 5 minutes with the punch tower and if I need to I add another 5 minutes. I play upbeat and happy songs as well and that helps. Also helps me add in more exercise to my routine which is useful to. :-D

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

Don't know If this this is normal. Long story cut short but three years ago I had a accident and hurt my legs anyway the docs advised me to use a ab toner on my leg muscles. It seems now when I'm low and feel down I use the ab toner on my leg but I turn the power to full and let go. Sometimes its for a hr at a time but after I've finished I feel so much been in my self
