@Cervicaldystonia I hate the inactivity. How do you keep weight off?
My spascity is so bad I have so much trouble even getting out of bed. I was very surprised that it wasn’t listed as a top symptom! I’m thankful that perhaps most people don’t suffer as badly as this.

Hi my friend
So very sorry to hear about your pain. how did you manage to get back home. Did Paramedics bring you back? How did you control your pain? Are you still in pain. Do you have a physiotherapist to help you with the exercise to untrap your nerve? Can you get down to the floor or exercise on bed?
I pray that you find some relief and feel better soon.
Love and hugs.
Christina

Hi Izzy
I am so sorry for what you are going through, but i am afraid, losing your temper, bad mouthing, screaming and shouting will get you know where. You have to put your trust in the doctors. They know what they are doing and if they think that an MRI is warranted, they will surely order one. There is a risk of radiation and if you have too many MRI scans, you become susceptible to Radiation Cancer. I know what extreme pain can do to your mental state, so please do be calm and let the doctors worry about you. I am sorry if I sound harsh. i don't mean to be.
I am glad that you have started on your book. Something to keep you occupied. You have something to look forward too, and that's your mobility scooter in 2 weeks time. try and relax my friend, do some meditation and relaxation. Play with your cat Jamal, that will calm you down too. Let me know what your GP says on Tuesday.
Wishing you calm and peace
Your friend

Hi Izzy
You do what ever you think best for you to do to get the attention you require from the medics. You alone know your body and your pain. So if you need to shout, you do that and i hope that you get heard and get the actual diagnosis, so you can can get the right treatment.
Good luck my friend

Every time I go to my surgery I see a different GP who diagnoses something totally different for the same symptoms. It's varied from gallstones (seen with ultrasound), scoliosis (curvature isn't new, referred to a specialist), aponea (I think unlikely, other causes of insomnia but I'll play along and see the specialist), hypermobility syndrome (tell me something I don't know, just put it on my medical record - no? here we go again). pancreatitis (proven wrong with a blood test). osteoporosis (proven wrong with DEXA test) and 'just need to see a physio' (phone consultation, my reaction wasn't positive, saw me in surgery and diagnosed two of the above).
That's just the last 6 months...
Historic most wrong diagnoses include:
- influenza: turned out to be meningitis
- costochondritis: turned out to be peritonitis
- 'can walk it off, need to be more active' - torn hamstring and quads
Then they dislike when challenged. I know my own body better than they do.

That sounds horrific. Sounds as though you need to change the surgery and go to the completely new doctor. I totally agree with you. You know your own body better than any one else and the doctors need to listen to their patients, do the diagnostic tests first before confirming what is wrong with you.

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
