Hi all, it's been a while since I first introduced myself, wanted to say again thanks for all the advice.
in March time after reading many comments I was told by my son in law of a hypnotherapist who might help with my pain and low mood I get at times. Long story short I went to warrington Cheshire to meet. Decent sort who understood me and the OA. Took time to listen and spent time explaining stuff. I decided to see him again. I've been 5 times now. Certainly helping both mood and pain.
My son in law researched this man and seems he's really done some good work got awards to. So just sharing, I have no vested interest just sharing like so many on this board. Thanks all again, I will update a little later on.

I have tried everything I can, pain killers, rubs etc at the moment I have a little pain having used a combination of gabapentin Tramadol and ibuprofen gel which I used for the first time today, I have been taking something I found through FB just three drops in water each day so Im not sure if it is that that is helping, if it is then this is the first time for years I have not been dragging my leg due to arthritis I my hip and leg. If it is the drops that are doing the job then they are worth every penny just to be eased from my dqaily pain. Watch this space.

Hello Spearshake
You have not mentioned the name of the drops that you are taking in the water and you find them beneficial. Would you care to share what it is and where you get it from?
Thank you

Hi, has anyone any experience of cervicogenic head pain caused by osteoarthritis in the neck. I have this condition and it is extremely painful and debilitating. I would be interested in any treatments that have been successful as the drug regime I am on is only just giving me a few hours relief every day and not a suitable permanent treatment.

Hello Spearshake
Are you still taking Vital3, the 3 drops you read on FB? Are they still working for you? They are pretty expensive, but if it works, might be worth a try. it would be interesting to know if they are still working for you. Would you care to comment?
Thanks you

Does anyone know if it's possible to have Osteoarthritis & Rhuematoid Arthritis. A few years ago it was diagnosed with osteoarthritis which has affected my back, hands, feet & shoulders. I had to have an operation on my shoulder I had spurs growing through my muscle & all my ligaments were damaged & had to be shortened & the shredded ligaments had to be smoothed out. Both knees need TRK but this can't be done as I also suffer from a neurological condition which causes me chronic pain. This condition has become so sensitised that I can have no more procedures or operations unless it's life threatening. During the last year or two the arthritis in my hands has become really sore with joints in my wrists, thumbs & knuckles becoming swollen & mishapened. More recently I have been experiencing sharp pains in my elbow, knees & feet. I also have lines on my nails going lengthwise which I read was a sign of RA. Does anyone else have similar symptoms? Or heard of anyone having both arthritis symptoms?

Hi Shirley,
my mum had both RA & OA so yes it is possible. I also have OA, in my spine, hips and neck and now in my shoulder too. I am having the rotator cuff surgery next Tuesday. Like you it's the sharp burs that have damaged the tendons. it's very painful isn't it?!!! Can't wait for it to be done so I can hopefully get back to a more normal life. My hands have just started getting lumps in them although I have had pain in them for a few years now on and off. Guess my age is catching up with me haha. (I'm not 50 yet)
I hope this answers your question :-)

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
