Hi captain 06 I like you have to stay in for 12 weeks, as I am fighting breast cancer, and I have emphysema, lymphoedema, osteoporosis arthritis, hypertension, coeliac disease, angina, PTSD low moods depression and anxiety, and a lot more on top so I am absolutely terrified, as being 65 is very hard for me ,having loads of illnesses and having low immunity I can pick up everything, last time we had something like this ,I ended up with swine flu twice, and my husband had to take my identification so he could collect my medication but that left me with pleurisy, but I did fight that but this is totally different, I have had flu injections and I did have pneumonia injection so I'm just hoping that will help but it doesnt stop me from worrying, I have had to cancel my birthday holiday, and my breast cancer now charity stall that I was going to do but i am hoping that when this goes i can carry on to help raise money for my charity, i am trying to busy myself knitting canula sleeves for the premature baby units, also I shall be carrying on making pom pom blankets and rugs ,so I just hope I dont have to stay in for a long time take care stay safe and if we do what we are told to do we will all be ok .love Tiger X

I feel for those with many serious underlying health conditions, but I have a brain aneurysm, am epileptic, got blood pressure problems, rely on heavy epileptic medication and more, and can probably be classed as one of the 'vulnerable' people, not the elderly. I am not worried about the virus because I know just common sense, logic and general personal hygiene needs to be followed. We washed our hands with soap years' ago, and were taught as children to cough and sneeze away from people and to cover our mouths and nose!

@unique I think they included it for those who may not be in a position to best take care of themselves. I think they should have explained that better.
This whole thing has been very hard on me. Being cooped up bring out my darkest thoughts. I'd love to get out and walk with my wife in the park as the spring weather is coming, but we can't. I feel like this is extending that "seasonal depression" because I can't really get out into the sun like in winter.

I made a donation today to the British Red Cross to support the crises of COVID-19. Remember in these difficult times, it's more important than ever to be kind to ourselves and to each other, and to protect those who are elderly and the most vulnerable!
1. Keep in touch over the phone, email or social media with family, friends and neighbours!
2. If you can, check in on people who may be vulnerable... Find out what they might need and see if you can safely help!
3. No one needs trolley loads of toilet rolls... Only buy what you need so there is enough for everyone!
4. Do look after yourself, i.e. with the basics: eating, sleeping and exercising safely.
STAY STRONG AND remember we're all in this together!

I take each day as it comes, try to have a focus for that day. Today is pretty good, but it gives me a nudge every now and again. H

Is anyone here worried about catching this awful virus? I am freaking out as I am 60 a smoker, and have underlying health issues, I am terrified of suffocating to death and have started to stay indoors. I have a part time job that I might lose if I continue like this.....it feels like the end of the world.....
