Pain relief.

I have both, make you a bit fuzzy in the head which maybe helping my pain. But I found this "Karma Rub" online after reading about it. It comes from an Australian company. It is an oil you rub into the pain area and I swear I think it is working.

I have been diagnosed with widespread arthritis of spine with nerve inpringement C7. I'm now on fentanyl patch every three days,Gabapentin 400@3 times daily. Plus docusate 100mg four times daily and Citalopram 20mg for depression. I was never one for taking medication and now at 54 yes have to live on these to cope each day. M

I have osteoarthritis in both my knees, am on co-codamol and Nefopam but this does. Not touch the pain, what can I do?

After a long time of fighting for a diagnosis, an MRI has confirmed that I have OE of the neck and spine with nerve impingement in several places. I was originally given Indometacin for acute head pain caused by the trapped nerves and Pregabalin which is the same as Gabapentin. My GP has now changed me on to Naproxen 500 twice daily instead of the Indometacin as they are kinder to the kidneys and not for long term use. I am not getting very good coverage of my pain but enough to function at most low level activities. I am finding I have spells of great fatigue, nausea, constipation and wobbly legs at times. I am not sure if all these symptoms are as side effects of the drugs or not but I do know that some of them lessen in time. I am assured by my GP that this is the right course of treatment but there seems to be a wide variety of drug treatment that people are taking on here and I wondered if there are any recommendations that I could sway my GP towards if things don't improve?

I am on Morphine Patches Fentynal every 3 days, Co codamol etc It is helping most of the time. I am arranging to see a pain management specialist as I also have COPD so don't want opiates of any form. Looking into Tai Chi and Yoga as well

I find the meds cause severe constipation and this puts a strain on my spine. Even though I'm on strong laxative, eat fairly healthy I still get constipated. I also have bad memory plus my walk is also wabbley. I also suffer with emphemisia and hiatus hernia so have to be careful going on antiinflammatory due to a decrease to my kidney function. For all the years I have been suffering with back pain only to be given strong painkillers and now suffering consequences. instead getting to source of back pain and receiving correct treatment earlier. Rant over. 

I find meds help and harm sometimes tbhe same med. So is it worth th side effect for the relief?

I have osteoarthritis in my spine & L5- S1 bulging discs, as well as Type 1 Diabetes, heart decease. Over the past few years I have lost count on the types of painkillers I've taken even tried fentalyn side effects are dreadful, up to now I have 3 lots of facet joint injections tthey give a little relieve to make things bareable tho last lot in August did nothing I am waiting for appointment to have them again. I have to travel to Preston to have these which is 90 miles away you can imagine how my stress levels are by time I get there. I'm in so much pain it's unbelievable I'm now having to walk with a stick.

I have been prescribed  10 mgButec patches for pain relief and 500mg of paracecetamol but they don't do anything for pain but on the good front OT came out and said I might be able to have low level shower and stair lift he was concerned about my tremors though
