My wife has her CAP machine for 5 years now, took some time to find the right mask. Just recently they ran out of the right mask at Papworth and she has had to try several new versions which are not so good and leak.
She had a faulty one that leaked into her eye leading to causing a torn cornea leading to inflammation at the rear of the eye almost loosing her sight. So she has been keen to get a good fitting one, another trip to Papworth is on the cards.
So a good warning to all who use the CAP machine as well as being very painful at the time, get a good fitting mask.
Take care also to make sure you take your machine into hospital on any stay. Although they have them on wards but oxygen can't be attached to your own. The consultant insisted my wife did not have sleep apnea so removed the machine and reduced the oxygen. She ended up in hours in ICU for two weeks and was touch and go for days whether she would live. The apologies from the consultant in the end would have been worthless if she had died. So be aware the hospital Doctors are limited to their speciality and do make mistakes.

She has tried most versions and prefers the full face mask, they fill our draws at home.

@Groovychick just started having this problem last six months also cramp which can wake me if managed to sleep. Can cope with the cramp but it's the lack of sleep/restless legs that annoys me most. Tried lots of different ideas but find getting up and doing craft work till eyes are droopy then try back to bed!!!!!

Question. What is a cap machine??
I suffer from Osteoarthritis in my neck and upper back as well as AS Arthritis in my whole body. I started using the CPAP machine, CPAP stands for Continuous Positive Airway Pressure, back in 2012. Yes somewhat uncomfortable at first but I soon got used to wearing it, you just have to persevere with it if you want to sleep. STICK WITH IT my friend.

Dx'd with sleep apnea, wore Cpap for 2 weeks and got a sinus infection, stopped for 2 weeks then started CPAP again, got another infection. Have tried lowering humidity and temperatures to no avail. Have daily nasal congestion( like having a cold 24/7) CPAP company is not helping me. Any advice, if I do not wear it at least 4 hrs a day my insurance company will not pay for it any longer
