@pensarenti as someone in the at risk group can you not get the priority deliveries from super markets, I’ve been getting a weekly delivery since lockdown started.

I am loving the freedom to be able to walk to places more than once a day, and feel healthier for it

@Laine56 I’m in a similar situation- minus the family and grandchildren.
I have found local small businesses delivering food invaluable- and although price gouging is rampant, Amazon do have some stocks of pet supplies and cleaning supplies.
Luckily my cleaner is ex NHS, so still comes once a week for 2 hours and can firstly check I haven’t fallen in the week, do the basic clean and get one bag of supplies from the corner shop.
I’ve lost a stone and a half. I’m trying to keep distracted but despite a history of scarring on the lungs from pleurisy and double pneumonia, I’m not ‘at risk’ either - my neck is broken in three places. My conditions are degenerative yet improve apparently in direct correlation to the local council’s budgets!
I feel for you. Can you use FaceTime or Zoom or Skype? I hope you have some voice activated apps and gadgets.
My best wishes for the rest of the lockdown and thereafter.

Reading everyone's comments, I also feel it is too early for people to get back into employment and other aspects, i.e. schooling etc. mentioned by Boris Johnson. Children do not understand what social distancing means and how on earth can a classroom of children figure this out.
Please remember too that his speech and intentions affect England, not Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. I reside in Northern Ireland and we have been requested to stay in 'lockdown' until it is safer, i.e. until at least early/mid June to get the 'R Rate' down. Our buses are empty but there's still an enormous amount of traffic on our roads. I don't understand where they're all going 'cos its not to the supermarket!
My husband and I will remain in isolation, and only visit the nearby store for essential groceries when necessary. I have had to order dog food etc. online due to shortage and empty shelves in our supermarkets.
Thinking of you during this time. Stay positive and keep healthy!

Hello everyone, thank you for participating in the discussion! I just wanted to share, if you haven't already seen it, our new article on the end of the lockdown! We tried to bring together and answer many questions you may have as the UK begins the transition to life after lockdown.
What is the current knowledge of the virus? If you've been infected are you now immune? Could summer slow the spread of the virus? When will there be a vaccine?
We tried to answer those questions and more! Here's the link:
End of the COVID-19 Lockdown: How to Carry On With the Coronavirus?
Let us know what you think of the article in the comments!
Take care,
Courtney

I can’t wait for them to lift all the restrictions. I was worried initially with my pre-existing health problems but it didn’t take me long to realise that we are all being hoodwinked.
The pharmaceutical companies want to make money out of a possible vaccine when strong doses of vitamin C would soon alleviate the symptoms. The number of deaths are being exaggerated, not everyone has died of coronavirus but the medical professionals are being told to write it on the death certificates anyway.
Bill Gates is a self professed eugenist and would like to see the world population decimated. He is pumping money into the pharmaceutical companies and wants the whole world to be vaccinated when there is some very strong evidence that vaccines can actually do more harm than good.
Go out, meet with your friends & family, go back to normal. The government guidelines are just that “guidelines” they are not law.

I personally think it is too early to ease the lock down. There hasn't been enough progress made with preventitive measures especially finding a vaccine.
I am in Scotland and will be continuing to shield as long as advised. What is the point in easing the lockdown in England from next Wednesday? This is going to result in people travelling elsewhere because they will think that by being allowed to go to work that gives them the ok to travel. But if CoVid19 is not being tested for more often, people may be carriers of the virus and could unknowingly infect others. I fear that the social distancing is already being ignored by some people locally. If they came into contact with someone that is a carrier of the virus it will be spread wider as a result. There will more than likely be another wave of people infected by the CoVid 19 virus which will lead to another wave of deaths not only in England.

Hello everyone,
If you haven’t already seen in the news, many countries in Europe and elsewhere in the world are starting to discuss or put measures in place to end the COVID-19 lockdown.
In his address last night, the Prime Minister Johnson announced an easing of restrictions regarding the lockdown rather than simply ending it.
The Government has established five tests that will have to be met before considering an end to the lockdown:
In addition, a new COVID Alert System, determined by the R number (the rate of COVID infection) and the number of Coronavirus cases, has been put in place to indicate how strict social distancing measures must be. It includes five alert levels, Level 1 meaning COVID-19 is no longer present in the UK and Level 5 meaning a critical material risk of overwhelming the NHS.
Starting Wednesday, people in England who "can't work from home" will be encouraged to return to work, but should avoid public transport if possible. From this date people in England will also be able to spend more time outdoors for leisure, including unlimited outdoor exercise, sport, or sun in parks. The PM also indicated that starting June 1, England may be in a place to reopen primary schools, shops and nurseries in phases, and hopes that some public places (including restaurants, cinemas and places of worship) may reopen starting July 1.
The Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Ireland governments have indicated that they will not be following with the June 1 date for primary schools. Decisions are awaited regarding the opening of shops and other businesses.
What do you think about this easing of restrictions? Is it too early? What do you think the impact will be on those who are extremely vulnerable or at risk? Do have any questions? Have you had any further information from your GP or medical team?
Feel free to share your thoughts and questions below!
Take care,
Courtney
