I am scared of the new measures, I will continue to self isolate, this will help my mental state as well. This lockdown has been a blessing for me as people move away from me, instead of me doing it. I will keep isolated as my wife, a Filipino works in a nursing home for those with special needs. Quite a few of Filipino's who work for the NHS and in care homes have passed away, or is ill with covid-19. I don't want my wife to join them. With so much confusion around it is easier just to let things go and see what the outcome will be.
I am not looking forward to the new normal, as I feel it will add too much to a confusing world, which is already adding to my mental state, and health, the future is frightening now, and yet what will it be tomorrow? How is all this money going to be paid back? I feel us the disabled will lose out again.

Hi
I live in Essex and I am classed as High risk so the easing of lockdown does not affect me as I still can't go anywhere. I do however feel that Boris is making a mistake in easing the lockdown, as things are not like the rest of Europe, no more cases of people testing positive. Plus people see the easing of lockdown as a time to get together. We have had many people in the good weather all at the beach and 2-meter distance totally ignored. So I believe although I hope I am wrong we will see a rise again.

I live in Scotland, to be honest I think that the measures are being instigated too soon by Boris. I think the Scottish government have managed the crisis very well. I'm not worried at all. You really need to trust the leaders of the country to always have our best interests at heart based on information available. I hope this remains the case,as all leaders are under intense pressure to get it right all the time. I dont envy them.

It's a fine line, between having what we have now, or losing everything that we have now, money doesn't grow on trees, the government only has so much money to help the UK with, people are quick to criticise Boris, but have no alternative themselves.

I fear the ease of lockdown while at the same time I welcome it. Due to narrowing of the spine I am in urgent need of an operation (recently diagnosed). Yet hospitals are not conducting operations due to lack of ICU and HD beds all allocated to COV 19. So I am caught if the wars of this virus.I have no intention of lifting my own cocooning or shielding. So its a new way of adapting to life until such time it is safe for me to go back into main stream social settings. Use your common sense and wait this out. It is entirely a very personal decision. Stay vigil, protect yourself many are so defenceless against this very to date unknown unresearched killer.

I live in the north east of England . I understand everyone would love to get back to "normal" but I personally think that we have started to open the gates to early we seem to be pushed into it by other countries ' USA . France. Spain ' all the countries that opened early have had a return of the covid_19 why the government .didn't wait for a further 3 weeks I don't know . . I do worry about my wife's condition . But doctors are saying that they will get in touch when things go back to normal .. no news is good news they say. It's not them wanting answers..

I have read on some social media that Germany since easing lockdown has started to have a rise in cases again. With the information given to us from the government stay at home go to work. don't go out go out for more exercise. I worry that there will be a rise again in England, I think Wales, NI and Scotland are the better option and keeping it to stay at home, after all what does alert mean you can not see microscopic viral and bacteria particles.

I live in Suffolk and am classed as High Risk, as is my husband. Shortly I must start three weeks of radiotherapy. I've been told of a different way into oncology but will still have to come into contact with technicians, consultants and presumably nurses. I am worried obviously for myself but especially for my husband as I have to return home each day to take care of him.

If you are 70 plus years, I would consider staying in, other than a walk for exercise and fresh air, and follow the guidelines of social distancing, hand washing, leaving your mail untouched for 24 hours, wearing gloves when wiping down or washing all tinned grocery before putting away and don't have face to face contact without social distancing and just stay safe, and not taking any chances would be good. Hope this helps.

Hello everyone,
If you haven’t already seen in the news, many countries in Europe and elsewhere in the world are starting to discuss or put measures in place to end the COVID-19 lockdown.
In his address last night, the Prime Minister Johnson announced an easing of restrictions regarding the lockdown rather than simply ending it.
The Government has established five tests that will have to be met before considering an end to the lockdown:
In addition, a new COVID Alert System, determined by the R number (the rate of COVID infection) and the number of Coronavirus cases, has been put in place to indicate how strict social distancing measures must be. It includes five alert levels, Level 1 meaning COVID-19 is no longer present in the UK and Level 5 meaning a critical material risk of overwhelming the NHS.
Starting Wednesday, people in England who "can't work from home" will be encouraged to return to work, but should avoid public transport if possible. From this date people in England will also be able to spend more time outdoors for leisure, including unlimited outdoor exercise, sport, or sun in parks. The PM also indicated that starting June 1, England may be in a place to reopen primary schools, shops and nurseries in phases, and hopes that some public places (including restaurants, cinemas and places of worship) may reopen starting July 1.
The Welsh, Scottish, and Northern Ireland governments have indicated that they will not be following with the June 1 date for primary schools. Decisions are awaited regarding the opening of shops and other businesses.
What do you think about this easing of restrictions? Is it too early? What do you think the impact will be on those who are extremely vulnerable or at risk? Do have any questions? Have you had any further information from your GP or medical team?
Feel free to share your thoughts and questions below!
Take care,
Courtney
