I suffer with Osteoarthritis in my hands feet and lower back. I have been on Methotrexate for many years as well as other drugs by the bucket load. Nothing has worked for me???? It just gets progressively worst, especially in the warmer months. Never mind' keep on popping????' (the pills)
Cheers Ya'll

@wednesday Thank you for replying. I am in the process of appealing against the decision of the DWP at the moment, but the whole process is so slow and long winded. I asked for a copy of the report that the so called health associate sent in to the DWP in order to help them make their decision and have only just received it; over two weeks after requesting it. And, as I began reading it, I realised it was the report first sent in two and a half years ago, the one from which I was awarded the PIP. So, once again, I have had to waste almost an hour of my time, holding onto the phone and listening to Vivaldi’s 4 Seasons, in order to request the correct report. I find this whole process humiliating and stressful.

Hi yes it is distressing. It nearly caused my sister to have a breakdown, but persistence and help from her go paid off in the end. It shouldn't be like this.

@richard0804 I am so sorry to hear that nothing helps with your pain and I can sympathise as I am in the same position.
Now as if the constant pain is not bad enough, I am embroiled in a battle with the DWP to have my PIP reinstated. I was awarded it two and a half years ago, but they have now decided I do not qualify for it.
It is complete nonsense and as I said, just adds to the stress I am already under

This PIP episode annoys me intensely especially when those that urgently need it, are turned down. What more must one do when those doing the questioning aren't proper professionals or qualified in the disability role! I still have to wait my 2 years of living in the country before I can even apply. Then the fun and games start!
Surely if one has been given it for two and a half years, they can't take it away? This must be illegal.
Hoping you get somewhere with the DWP in the end.
Keep us posted.

I was taken into hospital in an ambulance in a stretcher at the weekend. Was given gas and air for the immediate pain which was excruciating and then two injections of morphine one more or less after the other. Two ibuprofens tablets and that was before I arrived in A & E. The ambulance paramedics were simply kind and very compassionate.
long story short after blood tests, xrays and consultations after 4 days they still couldn’t find the problem. It was only when I saw the physio on the last afternoon before being discharged that I understood what may have been happening in my body.
I told her I had Hypermobility and she asked me if I’d suffered from fibromyalgia in my life. Which I have done for 15years with no help from anyone in the health profession and she said these two things are interconnected.
I’ve suffered from tracyitis, bursitis, and arthritis and the root cause may stem from being hyper mobile.
I wanted to investigate this further, so my question is does anyone have any further reading or experience to give as a means to help myself. I don’t want to totally become a victim of these health issues but don’t really know where to go to get professional advice.
kind regards

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

Hi I have Osteoarthritis in my lower back multi level. This has progressed to Spinal Stenosis in my ankles and legs. I use a walking stick to get around and am house bound a lot lately due to difficulty walking for long periods. I have been offered decompression surgery on my spine and was wondering if anyone else has got good results from this?.
