Hi, I work in a secure hospital so can not practice social distancing and we have a lot of covid-19 positive patients. I am type-2, have quite bad asthma though not brittle, BMI 41 and have fibromyalgia and lichen planus. My GP said work should make amendments to my role for my protection, but that’s impossible. Work won’t furlough me without the NHSE letter so I’m stuck in the front line with little protection. A colleague with Type-2 and no other conditions has been furloughed. My doctor will not send me a letter, said they aren’t doing it because too busy, her doctor sent her one. It’s all a very grey area.

I am a type 2 diabetic on insulin , BMI 37 and due to other health concerns this hasn't been well managed recently. I was very ill early Feb ( pyrexia with a temp of over 39 for over a week , headache and general aches ) , no underlying cause was found but blood tests taken at the time showed elevated liver enzymes which are still being investigated. I work nights in a residential care home for the elderly so obviously can't socially isolate at work nor work from home. Some of my colleagues were concerned about my being at work so I contacted my GP who told me that I was at risk and should be self isolating at home. He has been very supportive and when my manager asked for something in writing he wrote a letter for me to send into work. I have been at home for just over 4 weeks now and heard today that I am being furloughed which is much better than the SSP I thought I would be getting.

Thanks for the mention, this situation is more out of control than just the horrid virus. The work problem is just mind blowing and business is in free fall with the measures in place. How are they going to pay back the lent payments? This is the new dark ages we are on the eve of a new world. A world of uncertainty with many areas of problems. Are we on self destruction? I think lockdown is affecting all our thinking on our way of life and how we can move on but there's just something in the background I just dunno what it is. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Too much time to think and too much time to ponder too. Lock down is a mind bender for us all.
