I am keeping busy by playing the piano a few times aweek. I also have a few exercise machines including a mini treadmill and bull worker.
I am better now I can get out and socialise. I do my voluntary work on Zoom and Teams .
I chat with my veteran mates on Saturday morning on zoom. They are a lot of support to me !!!

Hi Michelle
sadly many people cant get through to the doctors. my experience has taught me to wait until after Tonday or Tuesday before trying
in our town, we also have an aligned service that supports us, and if necessary will call an ambulance. have you checked to see if you have a similar service where you live? you could also try ringing NHS 111 for advice and information
Best wishes Mr Chipps the excellent poet man

I cant check my blood levels because i am not on medication and the government will not authorise me being prescribed testing strips. so when my old test machine died on me, it wasn't worth buying another
i have a 3 monthly blood test combined with other tests , such as my PSA for my prostate cancer

Unaffected throughout the lockdowns and isolation. I would wonder why Diabetes is affected by the Covid-19 lockdown. Although as diabetics we have the largest death rate within the Covid-19 deaths. But since diabetic 2 patients in this modern world we do tend to be obese with many types of underlying conditions so making us at greater risk overall. Again this must must be taken in balance with the fact we are an enormous group overall. So on balance not all bad if you look at the bigger picture, stay safe!

As a rule my diabetes is fairly well controlled with metformin and diet. I was supposed to have a review in July and the diabetic nurse finally got hold of me in October. However I didn't realise that I was due to talk to her about my blood results on the phone and went to the surgery. I still haven't managed to actually get to talk to her, it is ridiculous.

Hi everyone.... I'm due a colorectal surgery on monday and spent the last couple of weeks lowering my weight and my blood sugars....my A1 is now 55...the best it's been since diagnosis 4 years ago....apparently being diabetic can be tricky with this procedure and comes with risks...I'm hoping it's the kikuptheass I've needed to try and loose more weight and respecting my condition....I'm a little frightened....but fingers crossed all will be ok....Tony

Hello
I have been diabetic type 2 for about 15yrs, started with diet, then tablets now insulin......with covid it has been difficult to go to the Doctor, but to be honest until I could not cope with the intense pain from my fibromyalgia I did not try, so had blood test and was called in, was insufficient in vit D, my sugars had risen, blood pressure was awful etc. But I had a phone app with diabetic nurse which was very distressing.
I use Novorapid and levemere , of which I have used for several years, and cared for my uncle using the same meds, we were always given a set dose to administer with each meal, test blood levels 3-4 times a week, well the nurse requested my readings, of which I read them of to her, before breakfast, lunch and evening meal..she wanted the rest I asked what did she mean, she said the readings 2 hours after each meal??? never had we been asked to test after meals other than when uncle had been unwell had was having hypos, The nurse argued with me that she nows how she runs her clinic and would always want all these readings, and you use a dose according to the reading and meal....I have no idea how to do this as never been instructed.......im now in limbo as to what and how to go forward
