Hi, I have to use them as I am allergic to ventolin.. My life is very difficult at times. I still manage to hold Down a full time job , but I am not sure how much longer I can continue.

I don't smoke, used to choke me when I tried so some people question the diagnosis of COPD but I had Whooping Cough aged 6 followed by Double Pneumonia the following year, then Bronchitis 4 times a year. Have had Pneumonia 5 times, Pleurisy regularly until 1st Pneumothorax (right lung) when pregnant with my 5th child. Was then referred to a Chest Clinic & suffered 2nd Pneumothorax (left) 9 years later & 3rd (left) 3 years after that when a Pleurectomy was carried out on my left lung. One year later I suffered 4th Pneumothorax (right) where a cyst was found and had hospital treatment. This is when I was told that I had COPD. I used to get Tonsillitis regularly also until I had Quinsies aged 14. Have several allergies so unable to take certain medications. Think this is enough info. for now.

For me, I do not find these supposed long acting inhalers much cop at all, although I admit my asthma is bad and I am unable to avoid my triggers, however although the asthma nurse at my surgery seems to really rate Seretide, I have been taking it twice daily since 2013, and it doesn't stop my airways closing up outdoors or even help much indoors for that matter. How do the rest of you rate it?

I have had asthma since I was 11 years old, and have used a variety of inhalers over they years. However my GP put me onto 120mg fexofenadine tablets for various allergies & I have got to say that I haven't had a single bad attack since then! I take 1 tablet in the morning & that's it. I still have a ventolin inhaler 'just in case', but I honestly cannot remember the last time I used it.

I am allergic to the fexofenadine tablets that work so well for Tinky 13. My doctor tried me on them, but I broke out in fluid filled blisters all over worse luck. Really glad they are making your life better though Tinky, it's grand when you can find something that works for you.

Hello everyone,
We know that sometimes the inhalers might not be enough to help us breath and cope with asthma, so there is where the Long-acting reliever inhalers come.
Does anyone out there uses them? What do you think about this treatment?
All the Best
