Hello @Bonnieann, thank you for opening this discussion! Let me tag some other members who can possibly share with you!
Hello all, how are you today? Have any of you heard of the AirPhysio OPEP device for disloding mucus and improving lung strength? If so, have you tried it? Can you share your experiences with it? If you haven't, is it something you'd be interested in trying?

Hi Courtney - Marvellous device. I was admitted to hospital a few weeks ago, and was required to provide sample sputum. I have never found it easy to produce this, One of the doctor s scoffed at the device insisting that exercise was the key to giving samples. At the time, I was hooked up to oxygen and unable to do any meaningful physical activities. So, I continued to use the Air Physio and produced enough sputum over 3 days for successful culture growth and analysis. In short order I got the right drugs to treat an underlying infection, and after a week's course, felt better than anytime in the last 12 months. Perhaps, it should be used along with a nebuliser, (using medical grade saline) . Together, the 2 devices have worked for me and, although expensive, I consider it money well spent. As good as the NHS is, it can be blind to new technology. Good luck if you decide to buy one.

I have a Revitive Aerosure which I believe is similar, I have recently got over a chest infection, but it left me with thick congestion in my lungs, I spoke to a respiratory physio who recommended PEP machines and a herbal NaC, she also said that fluids are your friend, I only started it a day ago, so no conclusive feedback yet. I read up about clearing the lungs with PEP it said do it 10 inhalations and exhale then huff cough.

Hello everyone. I have seen an advert for the new air Physio. I wondered if anyone has tried it yet before I purchase one. ? It is hand held and you blow into it, it is supposed to clear your lungs.
