No problem Niki45 - Glad all went well, I found having a little note book to write down any questions/queries/worries was a great help also.

I had radiotherapy Nov 2016. I used R1 and R2 cream it's specifically for radiotherapy you can get it from yr GP on prescription it's fantastic no burns nothing. If it itches take an antihistamine. Months after you may get sore ribs don't worry it's the radiotherapy side effects hope you alll do ok xxx

I used aqua cream too. I got a bit sore at the end of treatment but it was ok. Now- a couple of years later I getsome pain in the muscles in my back - behind my breasts and iput those frown to radiation damage. But it's not there all the time and you can put up with it!

Thanks ladies for the advice. Really helps to make this easier. I know I've got the cancer clear and it hadn't travelled in my lymph nodes result but it takes so little to have me worried. Sore fingers and toes I'm thinking is it back in my bones. Driving myself crazy at times. Other times I'm buzzing in good form. Can we ever switch off from it

I asked about the pain in my bones etc and was told it would be down to the radiation treatment. It would be great if there was a list of "what happened to other people" so you could see if what was happening to you, happened to others so it wouldn't been so scary or weird.

Fighting. I've only started radiotherapy but have been told the after effects of chemo can cause bone ache. I was told very little about things that could happen. I had cording under my arm and thought they had done something wrong in surgery. Exercise worked it out so it's ok now. Have you finished radiotherapy.

Whenever I get pain in the back I am sent for a back x Ray - they have always proved to be ' wear and tear'. I wish you could have annual check ups on bone health and also after you have finished treatment they look at your case individually and give you some idea of some of the problems you might have in the future. As I have said because I had triple negative you are left with nothing to take as a preventative and little advice on diet etc. this all adds to the Insecurity.

Hi Niki 45 I have finished my radiotherapy still having some side effects - I wish there was a list or a web page where they had a list of "what could happen" . That way you could look at this and if something is happening to you, its not as scary because there is a history of this happening to others.

You kinda get fed up of "each person is different" story. My chest area, ribs etc are very tender, I asked straight out was this a side affect of the radiotherapy, I was told yes, however it should get better over time. The side effect of chemo are unreal also, again you get the "each person is different" line said to you.

The way I look at it is we were cooked from the inside out with the chemo and from the outside in with the radiotherapy so our bodies are going to be totally wrecked. I keep a note book and anything I think is off, I write it down and either go to my gp or if I have a hospital appointment I will till then and ask question after question until I get all questions answered.

I even leave space after each question so I can write down the answer give. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Fighting. For this info. Very helpful. I had 4th day of radiotherapy still a bit to go feeling good and a lot less anxious I hope you are keeping well.
