@Courtney_J I have been informed today that type 2 diabetes is not now classed as really vulnerable.

Hi Ya'll
I'm Type II and I've had three heart attacks, I also have high blood pressure. I have been told that I'm in the at 'serious risk of death' if I contract covid-19.. Thanks Doc.... That's all I need to hear.
OK so I'm AT RISK?? It's NOT going to BEAT ME.. I'll come out of this on top, it'll take more than some pesky virus to see me off. I've a lot more living to do yet...
My advice to everyone is to STAY POSITIVE. Having positive thoughts can overcome a multitude of things. The Covid-19 virus is one of them.
If you are really concerned about your health, go to your line manager or employer and air your concerns. Explain why you have the concerns. If you don't get any help from them and you still feel worried then, I would personally self isolate and make a claim for Universal Credit, or at least get the ball rolling. There's help out there if you look for it..
Take Care Friends
STAY SAFE
Richard

Thanks Richard it is so refreshing to have such a positive response. I have been advised to shield as I am a high risk of dying if I contact it. Type 2 diabetes chronic brittle asthma and mild bronchial COPD.
It is hard but I have a strong supportive family and a good network of friends so I am going to survive as well. When this is all over we are going to have a welcoming party for my new granddaughter Raven who was born on Wednesday.

Hello everyone,
Since the Coronavirus pandemic concerns many across the UK (and Carenity members too), I've created this discussion to allow you to talk specifically about the virus in the context of Type 2 diabetes, as we all know that people with underlying health conditions can be more affected.
If you haven't yet seen, we've published a few articles outlining the general information and guidelines for both the general population and for those with chronic illnesses:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Coronavirus and chronic illness
Are you worried about the coronavirus? Have you received any special instructions from your doctor regarding your care? Are you going to limit your travel? Do you feel that you are sufficiently informed about the general and specific recommendations? Have you taken any specific precautions?
Feel free to share your comments or questions below!
Take care,
Courtney
