Hello everyone,
I thought I would come back to this discussion and see how everyone is doing in lockdown?
How are you holding up? Have you changed anything in your daily routine from last lockdown? Have you had any advice from your doctor or the NHS?

@Courtney_J Haven't changed much myself, my wife and I have essentially continued to stay at home besides the odd strip to the shops. The increased numbers are a bit worrying and it doesn't bode well for Christmas with family, but still trying to stay positive and keep my fingers crossed that things will turn around soon.

I am new to the group, I am a office worker & although I have serious medical conditions including asthma, diabetes, heart trouble, respiratory which my employer is aware of I had to come back to work even though others with no health problems work from home, I was refused. There have been many cases at my building and I worry so, not sleeping, I feel very stressed. I have asked twice to work from home and declined then a third time and it's been three weeks now and not even an acknowledgement even though I had supporting letters from all my medical team I see frequently. is anyone else in the same or similar situation, any advice? I need my job and scared to ruffle feathers and seen as a trouble maker. I am working alone in the office but that is because the other's are working from home!!!

@Pattiann Hello Pattiann, thank you for your comment. Were you able to figure things out with your employer? In our article addressing common questions about the COVID-19 pandemic, we included a section on working and what to do if you don't feel your workplace is safe. Feel free to take a look, it may be helpful to you: All the questions you may have about COVID-19!
Has anyone else had concerns about returning to work? Did you bring it up with your employer? How are you coping in lockdown?

@Bridge67
During the first lockdown my letter came through the post. It was sent by HM Government and stated that my NHS records indicated I was extremely vulnerable to Corona virus and should stay indoors. It did not use the word ‘shielding’. I was invited on page 2 of said letter to confirm that I was indeed vulnerable and would need support. I called the number indicated and answered 4 short ‘Yes or No’ questions. Shortly afterwards and without any notice at all I received a weekly supply of foodstuff and other essential home provisions.
Dueing the second lockdown in November I got a similar letter by email first and subsequently by post. HM Government stated that I was CLINICALLY EXTREMELY VULNERABLE to the virus, from my NHS records. I was to stay indoors. There was support to collect my medication and to help me with my shopping at my own expense.

Well here we are in lockdown, part 582582948I don't even know anymore. How is everyone holding up? Fortunately I was gifted quite a few jigsaw puzzles for Christmas so I have something to keep my hands busy! 😀

Hello everyone,
Since the Coronavirus pandemic concerns many across the UK (and Carenity members too), I've created this discussion to allow you to talk specifically about the virus in the context of Type 2 diabetes, as we all know that people with underlying health conditions can be more affected.
If you haven't yet seen, we've published a few articles outlining the general information and guidelines for both the general population and for those with chronic illnesses:
Coronavirus: What do you need to know?
Coronavirus and chronic illness
Are you worried about the coronavirus? Have you received any special instructions from your doctor regarding your care? Are you going to limit your travel? Do you feel that you are sufficiently informed about the general and specific recommendations? Have you taken any specific precautions?
Feel free to share your comments or questions below!
Take care,
Courtney
