Hi @elizabethmary
How are you doing today?
I'm sorry to hear about your leg cramps. I've seen this posted on the forum before, it could be neuropathy. See our article on diabetic neuropathy: @Pippadog @fairies @marymack @ShropshireDriver @JennaRra @LoJn46 @Poorlylad1 @anthonyvmartin @Mamajojo @SteveAllnutt @AvezGirach @Redrose47 @trevorbulmer @Hucey. @jodie3210 @Dwoolven @famis5 @mmjayn @NannasGirl1982 @terrimc @Dollysandameliasauntietj @Marifer @ScottyT277 @Pete1966 @monday13 @Bumblebee22 @nrp997 @healthcare8055 @epain01 @tyrone @Babyrhino53 @Chirambo123 @Debi.K @pamnugent1 @Juliafrances @isaacm @TrudyL @Dellyn @Marxist @Darwin @Davie56 @Missteazel @CABSerra @JulieSanto @Tupelohoney @Trollyman @Vivann @CLARKS @Gregsgirl @Bazza1962 @Luisa1960 @Christinec @Sussexguy @Trace1977 @kenwilkin @Toni62 @sverster @LynG3009 @Bear62 @Superlyn
Do you get leg pain/cramps? Do you get this anywhere else? What do you do when you start to feel it? Is there anyway to make it go away?

Yes been having it for years. What worked for me for a while it being an old wives take out a bar of soap in your bed. Several people have told me that it has worked for them. When it stopped working they changed the soap and away they go again. Hope it works for you.

Hi Liz,
Yes a quite regular issue I just live with but you ask a good point is it diabetes related, a quuick check online came up with this:
''If you experience leg cramps, you should report the symptoms to your doctor. It could be a sign of nerve damage, referred to as diabetic neuropathy, which is a result of ongoing high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) with type 2 diabetes. It is important to catch nerve damage early before it leads to more serious complications.
There are a few basic ways to help prevent nighttime leg cramps. They can happen when you get dehydrated, so drink six to eight glasses of water daily. Stretch your legs gently before you settle into bed. You might want to do five minutes of low-impact exercise before going to bed. The blankets and sheets should be loose around your legs and feet to avoid binding that may compromise your circulation. Proper foot care also makes a difference. Have your feet measured and wear properly fitted shoes with good support. Choose non-binding socks that breathe, such as diabetic socks''.
So when next up for my diabetic checks I may ask this question as advised here!

I do but have found a quick ride on my exercise bike means 15 mins before bed means I now rarely get cramp in my feet and lower legs

Hi there,
I've been having terrible leg pains and cramps for the past three months. I think it is related to my diabetes. Does anyone else have this problem?
