Well Sandie
My son works for the NHS and is responsible for searching and setting up the sites and organizes vaccine roll out. He also receives daily statistics on side effects and the deaths. So far there has been no deaths, at least not in UK. I have read about deaths in Norway that was in news paper in India. Some one sent me the clipping. I can't speak for the other countries, but UK have vaccinated well over 4 million people and there have been no deaths or adverse affects, My son being a NHS Key worker also had his vaccine even though he is in his mid 30s and he is fine. So is my husband and myself are all fine after the first dose. It is not mandatory and you have a choice as to whether you have it and be safe and or risk getting infected with Covid. Only you can make up your mind. You can do some research on it, there is website where questions and answers are published for people to read, you can also talk to your health care provider before you make up your mind. even if it is true that 26 died in America, we don't know if they had underlining health issues and what age groups they were. I can't say any more that that. You must make your own choice. I am 76 too and I have had it.
Good luck

@TiffyT @Courtney_J I am a care worker, about to be vaccinated in a few days time. I don't want the vaccine, but feel I am being placed under a considerable amount of pressure to get it.
I know half a dozen people who've been vaccinated thus so far, and all but one has reported feeling ill afterwards for anything from 24 to 72 hours . My Sister had a 3 day long migraine, most of that 3 days she spent in bed ill. Otherwise, there are stories of back pain, muscular aches and extreme nausea.
I will get the vaccine, as indeed my employer expects me too, but frankly I feel rather resentful that I'm doing so for the peace of mind of those it is my job to care for, and because it's considered pretty much mandatory in my line of work. Peace of mind is NOT something I will have , when deep down I don't really believe this vaccine's is safe, it's side effects, unexplained and unexplored, and it's long term efficacy, not to mention it's long term effects in general, are completely unknown.

Totally agree Jamie r people should just do as they are told and we would have come throught this, it was all left too late, i started isolating in february as soon as i heard it on the news, as i was brought up (theres no smoke without fire) and most of these viruses are from china. The doctor who died in america was a very healthy man he received the phizer vaccine.

I wondered if anyone feels the same as I do about the jab.
I have had a flu jab about. 3 times and each time was unwell.
As much as I endorse a vaccine for C19. I am afraid to get it in case it makes me as unwell as other flu jabs I’ve had.

Well I appreciate peoples concern about the vaccine, we don't know much about how it will work as yet however we don't know much about the virus either and at present the vaccine is the only hope for some. Its like taking vitamins to help prevent more serious illness. I wish I could have it soon as I am concerned about spread of the virus as well as lowering the effects if I do happen to get it. Although a sheilder over 70 it could be several weeks yet before our doctors have vaccine for us. Then there is the problem and risk of getting to the appointment allocated at short notice. Freinds have assured me its very well organised in our city so I look forward to my invite as we were one of the first cities to use the vaccine in UK, Take care the choice is upto you , but if no one has the vaccine we will never know for sure what the long term benefits are. Yes as I understand it human trials have been done on it but only short term ones.

I can only say that my husband is fine after he had Pfizer and i am fine after i had Astra Zenica. Both of us have only had the first dose. My husband was supposed to have the 2nd dose on 13th Feb but then the Govt, changed the rule to give the second dose in 12 weeks time. So far he is good. Vaccine is entirely voluntary. No one can force you to have one if you don't want to. Perhaps you can ask to delay it a bit if you are unsure, and want to wait to see how others are doing after it. You can always talk to your GP or go on Corona Virus website and read the questions and answers. But at the end of the day, the choice should be entirely yours whether you have it or not.

I agree totally with @nineteen_gale in all aspects... Those that have supposedly died from having the vaccine; who knows whether they didn't have an underlying health condition? One has to also be sensible and logical about the issue and wonder whether one wants to remain without the vaccine and be safe, or have the vaccine and hopefully not pass COVID onto the community. Also, do research on the subject if you have any queries about the vaccines, speak to your doctor, or go onto the Corona Virus website and find out more information.
I have done so and found out that the Pfizer vaccine can possibly affect those with allergies, so have the sense to speak to my doctor first to find out which one he is offering to his patients. My GP knows my health conditions also, so discussing it with him first is my main objective. I am prepared to wait for the other if need be if I know one will affect me in a negative way.
The choice is yours.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
