I would like to get the vaccine but I have been advised that as I carry an epi pen all the time not to have the first vaccine bought out last year. Hopefully I will be able to have the Oxford vaccine but I will be checking first.

I am ok today, and I'm going to have the vaccination when it is my turn.

I'm also eager for the vaccine. My sister caught COVID in November and is still dealing with side effects now in January (mostly shortness of breath and fatigue). I wonder if those who have already had COVID will need to or will be able to get the jab? I have COPD so it's been hard to isolate from my own sister out of precaution so I'd like to get it if it's ok for COPD patients.

I understand how hard it must be for you to be isolated from your sister. As to your question, is it okay to get Covid when you have COPD. the answer is a big fat NO, most definitely NO NO NO. i don't know which age group you are in, but to get infected with Covid with COPD, one gets seriously ill and sometimes can not get out of it. Covid is a serious Respiratory illness and COPD also Respiratory illness it compounds the situation. I don't know how far are you from your vaccination, you would be on the vulnerable list and therefor a priority. So wait until you get vaccinated.. My husband has COPD and he had his 1st dose of vaccine 15 days ago. He is 84 and very vulnerable. I had my 1st dose yesterday. Stay strong. Continue to follow the rules and stay safe.

I am not sure I can have it because I have multiple health conditions Rheumatoid Arthritis is just one of them. Having checked the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society Website although safe to have it states you won’t get the same amount of protection that normal people will have due to the medication you take and it may induce a flare up. So lots to consider before I make a decision.

There is no reason from RA point of view why you can not have the vaccine. You might be on Immunosuppressive drugs. Even if it does not give you full protection, you will have some protection. Surely that counts for something. Unless you are an Epi pen user for severe Allergies, you should be okay for the vaccine

I am so confused about the vaccine because of social media and the Government. Must admit I fear the vaccine, it hasn't been trialled on animals, so are the elderly the Guinea pigs ??? I have also seen deaths have occurred after receiving the virus
Will I take the vaccine, highly unlikely

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
