Hello everyone,
Thank you for participating in our discussion! As the vaccine supply continues to become available and more of us are given the opportunity to get it, it is important to remember, as many of you have mentioned on here, that you should have a discussion with your GP or another medical professional to address any questions or concerns you may have, as you would with any other medical procedure. Your GP knows you and your history and will be able to advise.
I've put together a little thread summarising the current information about the vaccination campaign (eligibility, clinical conditions), which I will try to keep updated as things progress. I've included links to relevant official health websites that you can consult as well. Here's the link to the thread: COVID-19 vaccination campaign: Who is currently eligible for the vaccine?
I've also pinned it to the top of our Let's talk about COVID-19 group so you can find it there if you'd like to consult it later.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend!
Take care,
Courtney

I understand that but it takes years to perfect a vaccine and this vaccine has mentioned by the Government may not save you they don't know the outcome, so of course people will become confused.

@Courtney_J Thank you for your post on the COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign and all the advice you have given to members in this regard.
The links to the relevant official health websites and the thread will be most useful and help many with eligibility, information and clinical conditions.
I agree with your comments also about speaking to one's own GP or another medical professional about any queries one might have. I can't wait to be contacted by my doctor and look forward to receiving the vaccination in due course!

A lady called Nina Wadia, not sure what her designation is, if she is a doctor or a celebrity, came on the news and was urging people to stop believing in all the fake videos. They are all but fake. Yes, the vaccine was developed too quickly. But then the scientist wanted to contain the spread of Covid, and worked day and night in their labs to produce it. They then trailed, and tested on it on 20,000 volunteers, and there were no ill effects and no fatalities, before they announced its safety and made the vaccine available. Her words were" Stop believing in fake news, trust the scientists and have the vaccine, stay safe and save lives" After all, millions have now received the vaccine, and they are alright. So try not to fear it, but go for it. At the end of the day the choice is yours, have the vaccine and save your life or risk the virus and put yourself in danger. Good luck,

I'm 77. I've been shielding since March on Drs instructions because of medical conditions I have since major surgery for rare tumours over 20 years ago. I went into cardiac arrest when given pre-med ! I have a long history of severe allergic reactions. Had one as a child to a jab I was taken for. Others since, including polio, have been fine. Much as I want the vaccination I don't want that to be what kills me or makes things worse . Getting to see my GP is nigh impossile since lockdown !. The soonest I can get a call from him is Feb 5th ! Last one I had he rang at 19.30 ! I therefore have a dilemna. My gut feeling is it would be too risky. As I missed a call for the vaccine this week apparently , probably feeding birds, I think that was a signal . A friend in USA posted pictures of a Dr there who died after having vaccine. He had very similar leg rash reaction that I get & have been hospitalised with twice so very scarey for me. Interesting what others would do?

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
