@nineteen_gale Hope you get him back well soon, sounds like an infection possibly sepsis. Was his blood pressure low, another sign or indicator with a rash of somekind. No doubt an intravinous anti-biotics for the next few days will get him straight hopefully. It must a worry for you not to able to attend hospital with him, it is about time the NHS calmed down a little with the Covid restrictions. No doubt you and your husband had your jabs and still isolating so you could really attend hospital with him. My wife has had Sepsis 3 times including one time going into septic shock, so survivable these days if it is that. I know from my cancer treatments our immunity system is fragile. So with a little luck and prayer he will be back soon and if the Covid restrictions easing you may be able to visit, our thoughts are with you, stay safe!

How can we be back to normal?
No-one under 45 have been vaccinated that is still too much risk for me.
Hope you all stay safe and well.

Hi Janet
My colonoscopy showed I have Diverticulosis. I am glad there is nothing sinister I do have a good high fibre diet with seeds and nuts, plenty of fruits and vegetables, so I can live with that and control it to some extent. Thanks for asking. Hope your daughter is controlling her Chrones well. Good luck

Thank you for your message Rob. you sound as though you are in medical or nursing profession. I am a qualified nurse too, although retired now. So I did recognize his shivers and feeling very cold and dehydration, although he had no rash. He is in the ITU now with catheter, Arterial line to monitor continuous BP as it was dreadfully low, IVI, monitor and vasodilators. He sounded a lot better on the phone. They have stopped his anticoagulants as his blood was too thin and halved his Betablockers. He is in good hands in the hospital and doing fairly well. He might be transferred to a medical ward tomorrow if his obs remain satisfactory. Hope your wife is doing well now. Thank you for your concern and support

No I have no medical training but a wife who for the last thirty years has suffered many serious conditions. She has had three heart attacks, COPD, Asthma, Lupus, sepsis, Bechet, Heart failure, CKD, Fibromyalgia, Carpal Tunnel, Raynards, Gout, Osteoarthritis to name just a few. To resolve regular Ambulance, A&E and ICU stays I took a active interest in her health conditions and how to monitor them. This has allowed me to anticipate issues and have prevented all the emergency visits every year to hospital, simply down to routine appointments now. I have many types of medical equipment like ECG, SP02 meter, Blood Pressure etc. some supplied by the NHS and others I bought. My own minor issues of cancer, diabetes etc. also added to my learning curve. So merely a amateur battling to understand what is going on and trying to extend our time together. They said she had five years to live 20 years ago but successful intervention I believe has extended her life.
Great news to hear your husband is moving out of intensive care. So are they looking at it as a heart condition or is the issues a result of other problems. Clearly when he comes out you can give him the care he needs for a good recovery, stay safe!

Hi Rob. Thank you for your message. You have done very well indeed and despite all the medical conditions you are still here. Well done to you for your excellent care and your learning curve that you are both still here. Michael is not maintaining his BP without medication into his Arterial line, which is why he is still in ITU. He has Asthma, COPD, Atrial Fibrillation, Hypothyroidism, Stage 1 CKD Heart failure. He had surgery for Oesophageal cancer 5 years ago and is now discharged from the Oncology. He will need a lot of care when he comes home. Despite my disability I have been caring for him since the past 5.5 years. As for me, it is 14 days now , since I started having severe headaches from 8th day following the 2nd dose of AZ vaccine headaches post 2nd dose of AZ Vaccine. Paracetamol is not helping much. I am considering ringing 111 for advice. You take good care of yourself and your wife. Good luck

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers Lesley and Tigger. My husband is still in ITU. He is not maintaining his own BP without the medication into his Arterial line. Until he can do that for 7 hours after stopping the medication, he can not be moved on to a Medical ward. Thank you both for your concern and prayers.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
