@Elaine68 I had the Oxford jab on Tuesday and felt a bit extra achy ect but improving guess it was the side effects. Seems those on the Oxford jab are getting more side effects than those who had the other one rfrom those I have spoken to.

I have had the 1st round of the Astra Zeneca vaccine being in the so called vulnerable category. However I can't help feeling the Government got this wrong. Surely the truly vulnerable categories are those who are out there dealing with the situation and I include Policemen, Prison Staff and many others. We could have obeyed the rules and kept ourselves safe for just a bit longer until those truly at risk had been dealt with.

Hi Cooperman,
The vaccine does not prevent you getting the disease or passing it on, nor does it affect the vast majority of people beyond a simple cold. So track and trace needs to be carried out on everyone suffering from such symptoms, especially health and public service workers. The disease is only a threat to older age groups and clinically vulnerable where it can cause hospitalisation or death. So why waste the jab on young fit teachers, Police, prison staff etc. if there is no serious risk. There has been no recorded case of a teacher catching Covid from their pupils in the world. The few Police affected and died all had underlying health conditions who would have been aligned to get the jab. There are millions that are old and clinically vulnerable who are at risk of dying and will overload the NHS, surely you understand they must get priority. Giving the vaccine to young fit people is a propaganda and feel good policy and a total waste of resources, stay safe!

I had the Astra Zeneca vaccine on Saturday and had no problems at all. My arm was stiff but no more than when I have the flu vaccine.

I am glad to hear most people on this site have had no side effects from the AZ vaccine , however some people on other sites have been badly effected , we are concerned about how this has effected many peoples breathing even though they may not have a lung condition. On the plus side most at this stage have only had mild or no side effects. Definately sounds like its mainly helpful most treatments have some side effects and not all patients suffer them we are all different. Stay safe and do take care

@robjmckinney @robjmckinney I don't entirely agree with your point of view and would suggest that the decision to vaccinate the older end first was very political as they account for a huge number of votes. Lots but not all have caught Covid because they have not obeyed the rules. Whereas front line workers have no option but to put themselves at risk. I could also argue that many older people have had a good life and can't be expected to go on forever. Surely life is about quality and not the length of it. I can say this because I am in this age group. The growing need is to get people back to work and get the economy moving.

Hello everyone,
How are you today?
The pharmaceutical groups Pfizer (USA) and BioNTech (Germany) announced on Monday 9 November that their vaccine candidate is 90% "effective" in preventing Covid-19 infections, according to preliminary results of their large-scale phase 3 trial, which is still ongoing.
What do you think about this? Do you plan to be vaccinated as soon as the COVID-19 vaccine is on the market?
Feel free to discuss and share in the comments below!
Take care,
Courtney
