Tramadol seems good but causes constipation and also interfere with the waterworks.! I am having constant whole-body tiredness and the neck pain, plus now my both knees have gone. There seems to be no help...really speaking.

Friend
@andrea41 cocodemols did nothing for me at all i stopped taking them as i thought 8 a day doing nothing to relieve the pain was ridiculous i now take health essentials plus paracetamol and caffeine from aldi and they are far far superior recommended them to friends who also have had good results. Im on the waiting list for a hip replacement as the pain is horrific. Should have had it done 11 years ago but got breast cancer so been put on hold till now. My surgeon rang 2nd december said just waiting for covid to clear

I've stopped taking Co-Codamol as this doesn't help. I've now found Paracetamol doesn't ease the pain, but Anadin with caffeine and Aspirin is helping with neck and back pain.
Due to being on anti-epileptic drugs, I have to be careful of what I take also.

At the moment I have arthritis in my hands, knees feet and just recently my hips. I use cocodamol and volterol for pain relief. The hardest part to cope with is the joint stiffness in the morning. It always wakes me up early.

I've just been put on BuTrans 5mcg patches for osteoarthritis in the neck and shoulder. These are new and I am only on the 2nd patch; one weekly. Due to my last Dexa scan results for osteoporosis, my doctor is now referring me to the Osteoporosis Clinic in NI to discuss further forms of treatment. At the moment I am on Risedronate Sodium but see this being changed in due course.

@Tigger.co.uk I hope the medication works for you. Regret, I have now had to stop the patches due to side effects, i.e. allergic reaction to the adhesive, nausea, headaches, low sodium, water retention and seizures. I would prefer to put up with the pain than struggle with the above.

Hi. New to the group,I have ostiiarthritis plus sciatica and tendonitis. For this happy arrangement I'm on morphine patches ,have been for around 20 years. Last night which makes the 3rd Time ever I was cold turkey as the heat just peels away the patches by making me sweat more moist than anything . But I have an arrangement that I have 4extra 5mg patches for as and when I need them cos if you run out before the alloted date boy ,are you in trouble. And going cold turkey at the thanks to the NHS is just great. The hell can i do to stop them coming off my arm , and they are taped on. But that's my night last night ,shaking twitching sweating as the house is like an oven an to top it all, I've been in a flare up for the last week. So if any one out there goes through the same ,ehatr do you do if you have no patch?????

Hi, all I can say is the meds help for a while, it's all about knowing what your pain tolerance is. And no t taking meds all the time. Stretches physiotherapy etc always made mine worse 1 hour session would put me on my back for 2 days. Every week for 6 months they never listen when you tell them.

There are different types of pain and ainti-inflammatory medications that can help you reduce pain due to osteoarthritis. Analgetics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, corticosteroids... which type has you used and how did it help?
At what moment did you start taking medication and how long did it/has it lasted? Have you experienced any side-effects?
Thank you in advance for sharing your stories
