Hi. New to the group,I have ostiiarthritis plus sciatica and tendonitis. For this happy arrangement I'm on morphine patches ,have been for around 20 years. Last night which makes the 3rd Time ever I was cold turkey as the heat just peels away the patches by making me sweat more moist than anything . But I have an arrangement that I have 4extra 5mg patches for as and when I need them cos if you run out before the alloted date boy ,are you in trouble. And going cold turkey at the thanks to the NHS is just great. The hell can i do to stop them coming off my arm , and they are taped on. But that's my night last night ,shaking twitching sweating as the house is like an oven an to top it all, I've been in a flare up for the last week. So if any one out there goes through the same ,ehatr do you do if you have no patch?????

I found tremendous relief in Arthritic pains in my knees and fingers with Turmeric. Read up about it on website Turmeric for Health. Gives you all the info on it. If you are on anticoagulants(Blood thinners) Dietary Turmeric is safe. Caution needs to be exercised with taking supplements. Again, all the info is on that website. Exercises for knees are very helpful too. Physio can advise you on that. Water base exercises are excellent.

I have many chronic ailments and diseases. You can find them all on my Testimonial. It makes some worrying reading.
I take a minimum of 43, YES 43 tablets a day, a handful at breakfast and half a handful at bedtime. A minimum of 6 Insulin injections a day.
I don't suffer any side affects at all. Whether I need them all, is up for discussion. Some I take because I am taking that one but then I have to take two because I've started taking some of those, and so the circle goes around. I've asked my GP many times if I need all of the medication? and he says yes. Otherwise you'll die. Thanks Mate. Are you sure I cant have a pill to make sure that I don't 'peg it?'.
Don't let the b*****ds beat you. Fight with all of you being.

Hi everyone,
How are you today? Have you seen this older discussion?
Do you have any other conditions in addition to your osteoarthritis? Which ones? Do any of the treatments or medications affect which treatments or medications you can take for your OA? Do they interact or cause any side effects?

I have epilepsy, osteoporosis, am hypothyroid, struggle with acid reflux, high blood pressure, and am on aspirin, together with an antihistamine for allergies.
I take at least 9 or 10 tablets daily and medication once a week for osteoporosis.
There must be a reaction between one or two of them, I am sure.

Hi, all I can say is the meds help for a while, it's all about knowing what your pain tolerance is. And no t taking meds all the time. Stretches physiotherapy etc always made mine worse 1 hour session would put me on my back for 2 days. Every week for 6 months they never listen when you tell them.

Are you affected with other chronic conditions apart from your osteoarthritis? What are they (is it)?
How does the different medications you take for your conditions interfere with each other? Is the treatment difficult to handle?
