Dear Suzhannah , I am so very pleased that you have found an effective pain killer in Fentanyl patches . However , having searched online for Fentanyl patches , I was somewhat surprised at some of the side effects this opiate based medication can have for patients with certain health conditions or susceptibilities . Like all medications , manufacturers notices should be read fully and with caution , but always as prescribed by doctors . However , I am pleased for you , Suzhannah , that the patches are relieving your terrible pain . xxx

Hi am the worst person in the world for supersensitivity allergy etc Am allergic to so many meds and react badly to so much, however, re opiate meds adverse effect There is a reason that meds have to carry warnings of side effects that may or may not happen and it's mainly to protect drugs companies from being sued.
As well as fentanyl pain patch I have pethidine & codeine meds, the actually pain is so terrible and crushing that no other meds will do and apart from a little constipation I have not suffered any side effects at all and believe me as I said if it was to happen I would be the one to suffer them.
I have emphysema stage 1and bronchial asthma for years yet do not suffer any breathing difficulties which can be prominent in opiate meds.
Unless you try a product you will never know and provided you work closely with your MD or Specialist
All the best x

My surgery is a disgrace hey keep me on methadone as a nice and cheap if had fentanal patches what worked well but only aloudo short term ?used to love chucking gabapentin at me for years now good won't give me nothing for sleep stopped my ensure drinks because of cut backs? As everyone knows nobody feels like eating when in chronic pain I just can't belive there is nothing out there for me pain relief wise apart from cruel methadone? ?? After a failed operation hey tried me on predabline what worked but because of a nasty German doctor who I've ever met twice told me to stop them because of water retention and because the 2nd time in my whole life I misplaced my meds from holiday I am suffering badley but because of some GP'S they can make u feel dam right terrible I don't evenue go doctors no more it's what is the point feeling down very down but must fight on !

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!
