Hi all
I have just been told I have o /a in all fingers have had c5 c6 fused and have steroids injections in facet joints in pain.always. I wonder why o/a is always fobbed off and people with r/a seem to be seen as the real strugglers not us? As they both progress and ruin joints etc. I want to know any tips to keep fingers moving please. Bev xx

Hi everyone. I'm with you on people not understanding OA. Soo many mixed messages. Consultants and physio say no more high cardio. Sports therapist says yes modify it. None of us ask for it I inherited this damm inconvenience. The best therapy I've had upto now is yoga and manipulation on my lower back, hip and glute muscles, ligaments and soft tissue. Feel less pain slept better and not been as stiff since the manipulation. I'm on naproxen but with haste I take it definitely not taking that at bedtime again (when I need it most) didn't sleep felt like I had spiders crawling allover me. I was getting 1.5 hrs sleep, since the manipulation my sleep has improved. I hope you all have a good weekend.

Hi all,
I am new to this site and already am thankful as I see lots of people with similar problems, mine is knees, right knee severe arthritis, and left also but not as painful. I am seeing the physio on 24th May,the Consultant has said I can have knee replacement on the left due to its severity, not sure when this will be.I am hoping to find some advice on exercise ,diet etc, which may help ,I do take naproxen, not sure if it helps much.I have bought some supports for my knee ,which seems to help at time, like a stocking type, recommended by physio.I am aged 62, the Consultant said this is young to have the replacement . I am mindful that the lack of sleep etc, affects my quality of life as does the severe pain,so wonder which is the best option to take

I had a hip replacement 16 months ago due to osteoarthritis. I can honestly say it was the best decision I have ever made. Yes I was not looking forward to everything post op, but I am now 100% mobile and after not being able to walk any distances I now enjoy walking again and I've managed to lose 2.5 stones. Totally pain free and I've had lots of comments about how much happier I look - my face was obviously showing my pain. If you have any questions please ask!

Morning all sufferers of OA,
I was diagnosed with it in my left knee in 2000. It has since been found in my right knee. Last year my right hip became painful at night but an X-ray was NAD. Since then my left hip has also become uncomfortable at night.
Im really fearful of the future as this wretched disease seems to be rampaging through my body.
I have led a very active life including a long career in nursing. So I suppose the damage of the job (the beds didn't raise or lower when I started and we used dodgy lifts on patients)and running on a hard surface have taken their toll.
regards Tricia
